A blah day, 33 this morning, cloudy, drizzle, 45 this afternoon. The steady heavier rain went south of us. Snow is slowly melting, I can see almost all the plant labels now....we could get more snow Friday night. Crossing Fingers! it either doesn't come or is the last of it. The sugarmakers are happy that the warmth is holding off. Last weekend was maple weekend with open sugar houses and festivals.
http://vermontmaple.org/

Jeanne, I work on my spring to do list all winter. There are always some left over projects from fall and many new ones thought of over winter beyond the normal clean the beds, plant new plants, shipping, move so and so....so far I have two pages and spring hasn't even started here yet!

Group hug Louise, a bit west of you I'm in the same boat. (or is that sleigh?)

Kelli, the flowers are so nice to see, there are lemons on the tree! Smiling

I have made several to do lists but then misplace them and start a new one. I will have to look and see if I can find them before starting a new one.

It was a beautiful warm, sunny day here today. I cleaned up 2 large beds and am ready to add mulch and then put rock around the border. A job I did not get finished last fall. I use the bulk red colored wood mulch. Is it okay to put it down over the top of plants starting to come up? I was thinking maybe I shouldn't put it directly on the plants that I know where they are. Any thoughts?

The battery in the Ranger died so I did not get my yard waste cleaned up. I will use DH pickup in the morning and will get it done before the rain and wind start. The next couple days is suppose to be wet and windy.

We still have about 6 inches of snow on the ground. The last couple of days have been just above freezing, with drizzly rain and dreary. Tomorrow is supposed to be better, with warmer temperatures and sun. Maybe the snow will start melting again. There is a chance of more snow at the end of the week, though D'Oh!

Rain likely. Cloudy. East wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Jeanne,
LOVE your fairy garden!! it's not so crowded, and yes, you need sand on top. What a great gift that turned out to be!
You'll just need wider bucket, lol! Love the sedum idea.
Cold and windy already today.
I didn't play outside yesterday, but I did walk in the morning and afternoon.
I carry a clipboard around to jot down ideas. I have a folder with jots from years ago.

Louise,
It's hard to have the snow when many of us have grass greening up. It's why I like living in the Midwest. I am in the middle of the heat and the cold. Vent away. Eventually we all have a gripe. Mine is not enough rain.

Kelli,
LOVE the blooms!!

Today the weather is much better than the last few days. It is clear and the temperature should get into the 40's. At least it isn't raining, since we are having some repairs done to our roof today!

I know the feeling, it has been dreary and rainy (with some snow mixed in) for the past week, but the sun is out today. It is so nice to see some sunshine. I hope you get some soon Smiling

Today
Mostly sunny, with a high near 54. Northeast wind 6 to 9 mph.

This will be day 3 1/2 in the mid(ish) 50's. Pretty decent temps to play outside, right? Nada!! Glare Glare Not when the wind chill is stinking 39 degrees! Grumbling Grumbling Typical ear ache weather for me... Blinking Blinking Blinking

Friday hit 73, Saturday hit 69, and Sunday transitioned in to the slight cool down. Really, a gorgeous weekend, with way less spurts of showers than originally forecasted! I got so excited, I finished the pedicure that went bust, a few weeks back, when right digit #4 busted! Glare Glare (Pun intended!) Hilarious! Went hunting for the "light gardening" flip flops, on Saturday, and clearly there's more hunting to be done!! Rolling on the floor laughing Okay, so the boots will have do for playing outside. Sighing! It's just as well, though, bc Dana's weekend playtime was superceded by grownup stuff Glare Glare ......busted printer and keyboard, unexpected paperwork deadlines, preparing city taxes, running resulting errands, etc. Grumbling The only fresh air that the tootsies and I had gotten, over the weekend, was when going to and from the car, while checking off line items in the mandatory grownup checklist. Blinking Blinking But I'll take what I can get, even if only in short spurts! Whistling Whistling Hilarious!

Well, at least the tootsies were happy over the weekend! Thumbs up ....ahem...well, at least nine of them, anyway! Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing

Silver lining, right?! Smiling Smiling

It's going to warm up again, starting tomorrow, and I'm still working on all three sets of city taxes, but come Hades or high water, Imma playin' outside over the weekend, darn it!! Crossing Fingers! Whistling Whistling Whistling

Kind of cheating because we don't go to our garden location until the beginning of May.

The good news; We got 4" of rain yesterday Hurray!
The bad news; All of that rain fell between 10:00 pm and 11:00 pm Crying

We had 6" of water flowing down our driveway, when it rains, it pours.

Hilarious! I needed a chuckle too, Thanks Dana.

Not sure what the temps were today, guessing mid to upper 30's. Mostly cloudy with the sun breaking through late this afternoon. Tomorrow is suppose to be sunny for a change...maybe it will dry some of the mud....8 extra large dog feet going in and out all day long. The mop has been working overtime. Watched three different weather forecasts today..they are either all in on a big April Fool's joke together or we are setting up for 6 -10 inches of snow for Fri. Don't know whether to Rolling on the floor laughing , Crying or Grumbling ...I am so over winter.

That's a lot of rain in an hour Charley!
