That's something else Woodthrush sells a lot of.

Susan, a quick addition to that point - if a plant has been grown out in a pot to a larger size, it had a ton of water to do it. Once they come out of those pots, they don't always take kindly to less water or fertilizer.
In the end, only kindness matters.

That has been my problem before. The nurseries seem to spoil the plants, then when I get a hold of them they just crok, nothing makes them happy, nothing! Grumbling

For the most part I like plants in a 4 inch pot. These seem to do the best for me.

Not all from one place.First I check what new ones Well Sweep Herb Farm is getting in they do mail order but are close to my house and carry a nice selection for shade gardens. I get most of my Ferns and Hellebore there. Mail order is mostly ILoveHosta.net and Mason Hollow Nursery. For the harder to find I use Eminence Meadows.

Well, that's interesting. One of the first herb books I had ever purchased about 30 years ago (and still have) has a section about Well-Sweep Herb Farm in Port Murray ... with pictures of the old colonial-style house there, the barn with numerous herbs drying, the well-sweep, and the herb gardens. Looks like a delightful place with more than herbs now.

Thanks for the names of the online nurseries. Thumbs up

Well- Sweep is a nice place to go . They run classes almost all year , have gardens set up and do garden tours. .They also set up picnic tables in the gardens so you can bring your lunch with you . And at the end of the season they throw a barbecue for there customers.

Ed Thaubald has an extensive selection of hosta liners he offers through a mamajack sale on cubits. all are healthy and he is good to work with on replacements if needed. He also sells direct.

A friend gets me a Wayside Gardens certificate each year for Christmas. They went downhill after bankruptcy, but have changed their practices. Larger, more limited, and more expensive plants, but the quality this last year was as good as or better than I've seen it in the last five years.

LOVE Santa Rosa, especially when they run their clearances. We have such a long growing season, I can take real advantage of them. Thumbs up

Walters Gardens has had good quality on their clematis and sedums. They are too expensive for me to order direct, but I got them again from a Mamajack sale on cubits.

Lots of good resources. Smiling

I have always been very happy with Mamajacks co-ops. It is well worth the small fee they charge!! Everything always goes smoothly for me. If there is a glitch they are more than willing to fix it. Lovey dubby Lovey dubby
