Good deals! My next best for canned pumpkin is Aldi - Less than regular stores for sure.
Hard to believe we'll be shopping for Thanksgiving real soon!
Plant it and they will come.

Sally- so right that Aldi's has the best price for canned pumpkin. Because it's a seasonal item, it's nice to stock up a few cans for pumpkin bread year round.
I happened to go to a kitchen store this week -Sur La Table- and they had 16 oz organic pumpkin in the sale section for a measly 99 cents. Got a few, so I'm set for the year.

Ive bought the corned beef brisket the last two weeks on sale, looks like one more time. Put it in freezer, love cb sandwhiches. They did have corned beef points on sale a couple weeks ago, I dont know what that was but passed on them, they looked useless to use. Was pleasantly surprised at what i did get.

The "flat," which is comparatively lean and features a more consistent thickness. The "point," the thicker end of the brisket, which is typically fattier, especially with intermuscular fat or "marbling.

So the "point" might make better stew with cabbage, potatoes, carrots... but the "flat" is what you want for sandwiches. My dad uses the flat in his St. Pat's stew, though, because he puts in more meat than other ingredients -- precisely so leftovers are available for sandwiches.

I prefer the flats for all uses. I find that the points have way too much fat. By the time I trim the excess off, there isn't much real meat left. While the point is cheaper that flat, why pay for something that's getting tossed? As a side note, when I buy leeks, I twist off most of the top greens for the same reason.

Our Giant Foods had flat cut briskets for $1.67 and cabbage for $.19. I bought 2 briskets since Hilarious! I never have enough leftovers. I think they also had point cut but I also don't like the fat and they don't seem to slice as well as the flat cut. We're having our meal tomorrow since everyone had so much going on today. I did however cook one of the briskets tonight in my Instant Pot and it is soooo tender. I had to put it away to stop picking at it. Smiling

The 4-Tier greenhouse is back! I love these things. I get several every year. It's not that they don't last more than a season. I just keep finding uses for them!

at that price, the drop-over one would be nice for early veggies...

I need to make an Aldi's run... will look!

Plant 'steps' and obelisks coming May 1, 2019

The plant steps, both round and straight, are $19.99 and the obelisks are $9.99 for 2. All tend to sell out pretty quick.

The scroll work on the front of the steps is optional. I don't use it on mine as it cuts down on available space on the ground and bottom 2 levels. You can't slip a pot past the back edge. In fact, if anyone wants the scroll work that I have, let me know.

I'd take the extra scroll work... nice for "fences" in our mini garden areas! If anybody else wants it, I do have some from my shelves, and I think I might get a couple more sets this year, so I'm not hurting for extra miniature borders.

I think I was too piggish on the obelisks last year, might be posting some extras that I could bring to the swap LOL. One year they had a much taller set of black powder coated iron obelisks... if you see those, please let me know (or please grab me a couple sets)!

Yes, their panel-type trellises are great! I've combined several in a zig zag pattern, like a screen... zip tied them together and reinforced them by putting a shepherd's hook (another great Aldi item) where the panels meet.

Over the past couple of weeks, I've picked up arden related items at Aldi for things Larry and I had planned to do this summer. With his passing, I have no need of the stuff.

(2) Small greenhouses @ $21.00 each
(2) Straight plant steps @$21.00 each
(2) Curved plant steps @ $21.00 each

I also picked up a garden cart for Larry that I no longer need. It's still in the box for $45.00.

Let me know if interested. You would need to pick them up here at the house, or make arrangements.

I bought a couple last time, wth the same thought in mind... they also worked great to pack up my groceries, since I forgot my reusable bags! Don't forget to drill drainage holes in them. (or melt holes, but I think I've drilled these containers before without splitting. )
