They are your babies whether purchased from the LA or made in your garden. nodding
Most of my blooming crop this year came from the LA also!

This pair of seedlings bloomed again today (and they tend to bloom together). The blooms don't always open this well (and they still aren't open as well as I'd like - I don't want to see the ends of those sepals!).

The cross is WONDER OF IT ALL x a volunteer seedling from SACRAMENT OF HEALING. Blooms on both seedlings are about 5.5", maybe a bit more. (I never know what to do measurement-wise when those sepals stick out! Glare )

Amber, very nice. We bought lots of crosses in 2011 and 2012. All of our seeds cooked those summers. It has been rare for us to buy since but there are some really tempting seed sales.

Karen, we have lots to see everyday in the seedling beds. I just snap some random pics since of course they are all equally lovely. Hilarious! Green Grin!
More like...even a blind squirrel can find an occasional acorn.
Found a few this morning..

Do daylily needs need to be stratified? Two or 3 years is not unreasonable. That's better than 5-7 years like some exotic bulbs.

I can barely wait for 2 years here. 5-7 years is way more patience than I have!

I haven't posted any seedling photos in June. Rain, interruption of internet service due to lightning and a habit of nodding off at night are some of the reasons why. All the beautiful photos that others post are a bit intimidating, too :). There aren't going to be too many more new ones anyway, I think. Mine are as much for curiosity as anything else. Information if someone is growing something and are tempted to use it.

I'm going to start with a repeat of one I've posted. The green center has gotten greener on subsequent blooms and does not fade as the day progresses. My photos just don't pick up how green it really is or how large an area the green covers. The plant is also measuring as a true spider as well as being a UF. And it's going to rebloom. All in all, it's earning another year and up-sizing to a larger container if I can manage the latter. 'Cat's Cradle X Green Arrow':

I've had two seedlings from 'Grey Witch X Skinwalker' bloom. For some reason they surprised me. I think I was expecting a narrower form than showed up. Here's one:
Thumb of 2017-06-09/needrain/14c540

And here's another 'Grey Witch X Skinwalker':
Thumb of 2017-06-09/needrain/15e008

I had only three 'Tigereye Spider X unknown' plants. This one grew better by far, but it had the advantage of being in a larger container and for a longer time than the siblings. It has measured as a true spider on all the blooms, but barely :)

A 'Purple Many Faces X Skinwalker' result:

'Selma Longlegs X Skinwalker' with the garden name of Litter Mate, it curls more as the day heats up:
Thumb of 2017-06-09/needrain/5ab594

'Selma Longlegs X Lilting Belle' which is growing in a hanging pot. The blooms are big and the plant is behaving oddly. Probably worth keeping another year and seeing what it might do in a larger capacity container. It's interesting. I'll post two photos so you can see it hanging :):
Thumb of 2017-06-09/needrain/730d4d
...and hanging:
Thumb of 2017-06-09/needrain/2807e9

And another repeat. Didn't much care for this one at first, but a couple of blooms later am beginning to like it. That's what happened with its pollen parent years ago. No explanation for it. This is 'Lilting Belle X Milady Greensleeves':
Thumb of 2017-06-09/needrain/1b43c7

I have several containers crowded with seedlings of 'Spider Miracle X unknown'. Some have managed little scapes and blooms and the appearance has been all over the place. Orange with eyes, red ones and a couple like this one. Maybe at some point I'll be able to get them out and see what they really can do. It'd be easier to just discard the whole bunch if they wouldn't tease me by blooming:

I like the wider petals on the third one, even like that color.
