Beautiful seedlings Shirlee. Looks like Bowtie Affair is really working for you. That first one looks soooo nice.

Some first flowers on little ones from crosses with mini's.

Many thanks Jamie, Jenny, and Terry.

Yes, Terry, Bowtie Affair is very fertile both ways, and
likes to pass on the pattern, even on plants that do not
have a pattern. I didn't have much to work with, but I
have purchased some new ones to see if I can get some
more that pattern well.

Thank you for all of the positive comments on my "feminine" pink seedling. I like it, but I just wish it had a taller scape.
Evaluating an iris seedling, hopefully for rebloom

I am totally blown away by the fantastic seedlings that everyone is posting photos of. WOW! WOW! WOW! is all I can say! Keep those photos and crosses coming!

Shirlee - Happy, Happy sure makes a great parent. I have that cultivar and may definitely use it for crossing in the future. I really like all of those that you posted.

Thanks Becky, you will find some very happy surprises with
Happy Happy. I've crossed it with so many different plants.

I forgot to add these. They bloomed today too.

Ginny, just jump in with hybridizing when the plants are
established. It's learning by doing. And thanks so much
for the lovely comment.

Cindy, have you had Happy Happy very long? It does
need a couple of years to perform well, or it did here.
We have had 13 below zero in the last couple of years
and even without snow cover, Happy Happy survived
and did well.

And lower temps than that in earlier years, and still
Happy Happy came through that as well.
Thanks for the very nice comment.

@mistyfog I love the look you are getting with so many of your seedlings. Do you have plans to introduce some and sell them in the future? Or maybe sell some of the "extra" seedlings on the LA?

It's pollen dabbing time, and I will have to
spend more time in the garden. Posts of blooms may be
few for awhile.

Thanks Amber, and yes to your questions.
I haven't decided yet whether to sell seedlings in the fall for
spring delivery, or to sell them in the spring for spring delivery.

As of now, the garden has to be inspected to obtain a
license to sell. That's first.

Thanks, Shirlee. Not nearly as pretty as your tets!
1, 5, and 6 are siblings.

I like the Fire Blast seedlings, but they can't seem to hold their color all day (and bud counts were less than 10!) so their heads may be on the chopping block....I will give them time to mature to see what they'll do first. Don't want to throw the baby out with the bath water!

Shirlee, WOWEE! Your seedlings are just spectacular! Are those from your own crosses?

Regina and Terry, your seedlings are just as beautiful too. You have yet posted a bad looking seedling. Are all your crosses produce such beautiful results?

Karen,
No....some of them are just terrible! I have some of the muddiest colors with some crosses that have also produced clear stunning beauties. I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder also. If we get a rainout today, maybe I will do some sibling posts and include the ugly ones in there too! Smiling

I love each seedling posted on here! June will be the month for my seedlings to bloom for the first time, I just pollinated something with something without no rule and goal, and I'm really curious. Coming on here and seeing all these beauties changes my day! Thank you!
