Thanks for sharing, @Pat236 !
I have an order in with Sterrett Gardens, too. Been wondering when it will ship so hopefully soon.

I also ordered Not Guilty.
Looks like you may have already had it? Any reason why you ordered more? Just wondering.

Today I planted the five new daylilies received from MP Flower Gardens. I also planted one potted daylily. Then I planted the latest order from New Garden Plants. Am pretty tuckered out! It was a beautiful day to be outside, though.

I also received my small order from MP Flower Garden yesterday, I took advantage of the BOGO deal and ordered three plants, I planned to plant three in my garden and then plant the BOGO plants over in the daylily beds at DABG (Dothan Area Botanical Gardens). The fans of 'Big Bill' and 'Gracious Spirit' were very nice but the fans of 'Raspberry Ripple Cupcake' were mostly small to tiny. I planted the four largest of the small fans in my garden but decided it would be better to plant the remaining six fans in a pot and grow them on before taking them over to DABG.
Hopefully by fall they will have grown to be large enough to transplant over there, but it may be next spring. Some of the fans are so small they have almost no roots and I have not had much luck getting such small fans to survive. I did appreciate the extra fans but sometimes "size matters".
I am still watching small fans affected by my spray mishap slowly fade away, many have made a comeback but way too many did not. I knew there was not much chance of many of those really small fans surviving, but even less that I thought have been able to recover.
I did drive over to Dothan today, and plant the two new plants where two plants had failed to return from the winter. Those two had been there for several years.
It's odd how a plant can seem to be so strong and doing so well, and then start to decline and never make a come back.

I am so sorry you're not happy with the fans of RR Cupcake, Larry. I hope they grow for you despite their small size. I got mine via a trade with another forum member; the plant has been super for me.

See the long story in 2024 arrivals thread.
I just wanted to mention if anyone uses Miracle-Gro potting or growing soil, ACE hardware [in TX anyway] is having a big discount sale the next ten days or so $24 for 2 x 2 CF bags. I backed up the truck and got a few nodding Already used 4 CF D'Oh! of stuff potting The Lily Farm plants in big pots. Thinking I figure it's ok, they'll be in the ground before winter.

@SummerBee
I ordered more because it was so pretty this past spring!

Thank for the heads up, Dave!
I was just looking at those bags of soil last week and cheapest I saw was around $16.49 for the 2cu. So 2/$25 is a good deal!

Miracle grow here (big yellow bags) I got for my seedlings a while back because they are cheaper than the usual blue bags (moisture control) I get. But the quality of the soil is not so great. Full of big chips of wood (mulch size), chopped bits of plastic, and......a dead decaying mouse.
Plus this year I am battling mushrooms growing in my seedlings Shrug! .
I imagine for outdoor growth it is good enough. But never again for my little babies inside. But....I still have 1 bag yet to go D'Oh! .

I forced myself to get a blue bag the other weekend. (almost $19! Thumbs down ). No more dead mice for me.

I haven't seen plastic/mouse🤮 here but MG has a production facility nearby so maybe the difference. I know same brand potting/garden soils are NOT the same nationwide. I cull out the big wood chips when planting🙄

I find random pieces of plastic/rubber and string etc. in virtually all the bagged and bulk compost/mulch/soil I buy. Even the local stuff I have delivered by the truck load. I don't know how it gets in there but it does. The world we live in now. Surprised it's not more, honestly!

Sorry about the mouse experience. Maybe write to the company and they'll refund you. Or give you some coupons for free (hopefully mouse free!) product.

Aww, it is fine. Just a learning experience.
Better than Miracle Grow "garden soil" I bought one time. That stuff makes a fantastic mulch because literally nothing will grow in it, not even weeds! Rolling on the floor laughing

Agree with you about the Miracle Grow garden soil, not impressed with their soil for raised beds either. I mixed a bag of Black Kow in each raised bed with the other soil and though things grew they didn't grow well. And you're right, there were no weeds.

I have had good luck with the Walmart "Expert Gardener" brand of bagged potting soil. On sale for $9.97/2cu. right now. Thumbs up Sometimes a couple of larger twigs in it but not too bad. I recently planted seedlings in it in nursery cans and have been fertilizing with miracle grow every 2 weeks and they are "growing like weeds". 😜

My experience with Wally house brand is the complete opposite...total junk and I will never buy any more.

Agree on MG garden soil...more junk & waste of money. I like Lowe's house brand Sta-Green garden soil to add extra organic stuff to my sand [don't use it straight out of the bag] Of course, it disappears in a year or two like every other amendment [alfalfa, ground leaves, etc,] here.

On a different topic, today I potted up the Pat Ball order and I am done for the season in TX. nodding now it is bloom time starting today Hurray! Hurray! Hurray!

Before I forget, Orion, @Plasko20 that variegation is on one side of the crown...the leaves on the other side are all green. Strange things happening in the garden.

Thanks for the info on your variegation, Dave.
Lets hope the crown decides to duplicate on the variegated side Crossing Fingers!

In other news, yesterday I saw 2 daylilies I thought were gonners poke their noses out of the ground. They were not there Monday, so these guys are having a real long sleep in this year. Still waiting on a few more to do the same before I give up hope.

But one of Wednesdays 2 lazy heads is one I am fond of. A spotted seedling kid from Pitter Patter. My guess is I over-hybridized it last year. So, it can get a year off from my "puppy-mill" program of breeding cruelness for 2024, as a reward. Thumbs up

I also like Sta-Green. My other favorite brand is Jungle Growth, also at Lowe's. I use that in my Grow Boxes and mix it with horse manure and shredded leaves for potting.
