Using Google Images I was able to find a photo of a Chick Charm label (both sides), and the true cultivar name is indeed on the label backside. Here's a screen capture.

Because some web stores only supply trademark rebranded names for semps (as with the case of Chick Charms sold by gardencrossings.com) this post can act as a guide to track name equivalencies that semp collectors can avoid accidentally buying duplicate plants. (updated 07-17-2018)

format:
Chick Charm name = True cultivar name, hybridizer, year
Appletini = S. 'Reinhardt', Martin Harberer, 1979
Berry Blues = S. 'Pacific Blue Ice', Gary Gossett, 1998
Bing Cherry = S. 'Aglow', Ed Skrocki, 1981
Cherry Berry = S. 'Rocknoll Rosette', unknown, 1995
Chocolate Kiss = S. 'Pacific Devil's Food', Gary Gossett, 1992
Cinnamon Starburst = S. 'Jeanne d' Arc', Andre Smits, 1994
Cotton Candy = S. arachnoideum 'Emily'
Cranberry Cocktail = S. 'Killer', Volkmar Schara, 2004
Fringed Frosting = S. arachnoideum ssp. tomentosum (a SPECIES)
Key Lime Kiss = the species S. globiferum ssp. allionii (is it possible to trademark a SPECIES?)
Mint Marvel = S. calcareum 'Mrs. Giuseppi', Dr. Giuseppi, very old wild species selection
Plum Parfait = S. 'Prairie Sunset', Kevin Vaughn, 1976
Silver Suede = S. 'Neptune', Ed Skrocki, 1975
Sugar Shimmer = S. 'Soft Line', Sandy MacPherson, 1991
Watermelon Ripple' = S. 'Ruby Heart', Kevin Vaughn, 1969

Other Chick Charms for which name equivalencies are not yet known, this post can be edited once underlying cultivar names become known.
Berry Bomb = ?
Cosmic Candy = ?
Cotton Candy = S. arachnoideum 'Emily' (Update! 01-20-2018)
Silver Suede = S. 'Neptune' (Update 07-17-2018)

Chris has some new ones that will be coming out that are originals. They will be patented plants with the Chick Charms trademark.
I'm not sure if your four last named semps in your above post are new cultivars, or old renamed ones?
Checking with Chris to see if I can get the information for:
Berry Bomb
Cosmic Candy
Cotton Candy
Silver Suede

Those four can be found on CHICKCHARMS.NET site, along with the others, click the "All Chick Charms" link. Both Cosmic Candy & Cotton Candy are arachnoideum types. There's also one on that link named Chick Charms Fringed Frosting, it's in the NGA Semp Database = Sempervivum arachnoideum ssp. tomentosum, another case of adding a trademark name to a SPECIES.
Thank You!

Melissa, a couple messages above I gave a list of Chick Charms and the equivalent cultivar name, on that list was Bing Cherry.
Bing Cherry = S. 'Aglow', Ed Skrocki, 1981

You can do a search in the Sempervivum Database. Type in Bing Cherry and it will come up with the correct entry.
Or, you can type in Chick Charms and it will give the entire list of the Chick Charms semps. You will also notice that there is one that does not carry a double name. It is one of Chris's own introductions.

I'm now searching the Sempervivum Database constantly, it's an awesome resource. Thank You!

While perusing the Sempervivum portion of the Database, be careful of those little blue boxes (located on the left hand side of the page) that says: "Add this plant to your list"...and if you are in a weakened state you may click on that button so many times and...Viola!...you may be on your way to a ready-made list (which can be accessed in your profile) and that can easily become a Shopping List for Semps. JUST BEWARE!

Too late, I went searching sempervivum database for all Volkmar Schara hybrids, I hit that dang blue button so many times that my finger is sore. Good thing there isn't an "add ALL plants to your list" button Drooling

I have read this particular thread several times and I have a couple of questions.

Why does Chick Charms feel they need to rename semps that already have names? I have been told when you don't know what a semp is you just call it a NOID so why would you change the name?

And I have to agree with the people who said they think that the originator of the plant should be consulted before this is done and that seems to me like it would just be common courtesy.

My only interpretation of renaming is so Chick Charms can claim the plant as their own.

I do have one Chick Charms plant like I mentioned before, Bing Cherry. There is no mention anywhere on the plant tag that this plant had a prior name.

It is a marketing thing. Chris felt that names like 'Killer' did not fit in the ChickCharms sort of names and instead gives them a softer name to appeal to the mass market. The original names of these plants are generally listed on the back of the label and Lynn has been keeping a synonym list on this website as well.

One may argue the merits of this idea but he is selling lots of semps and promoting our cause. so I'll take the win even though a couple of mine were changed to more agreeable names!

I guess if the person who created the semp doesn't have an issue with it then I should not.

Just remember, if you get too many people interested in semps then you will get all kinds of people turning out defective semps, you know, trying to make a buck. And you will have back yard semp breeders and semp mill breeders and semps living in horrible conditions and all sorts of things. And baby semps taken away from their moms way too early!! Sob!

And then we will all have to band together and form NSR (National Semp Rescue) and the next thing you know people will be dumping their umwanted semps at shelters and the shelters will be calling us to come and get them and then we are all gonna have all these semps that we need to find homes for and they will be staying at our house and fighting with our semps because they weren't properly socialized.

So all I can say is beware, don't hope for semps to get TOO popular!! Sticking tongue out
