I like that combination. Many of the centers here have landscaping contracts where the contractors have scheduled service/change dates for each location. If you can find out who is responsible for the landscaped areas, maybe they have an idea of when the plants would be changed out and you can be there to snag as many as you want?

Thats what I'm thinking Debra. I know who the landscaper is because I have seen the trucks out there. I will take my husbands pick-up and snag them all.
Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Mat.6:28-29
Debra is right most buildings like that use landscape services. I got lucky one year and scored a bunch of Iris when I was at a building they were changing plants.
Jo Ann never be sorry for adding input. Nice pictures of the Witch Hazel , I wish mine was yellow they show up mush more then the reds. The grass is a sedge Bowles Golden the nice thing is they mostly stay evergreen compared to forest grass in the northern zones

The golden sedge is supposed to be evergreen.

Just sharing photos of the Kniphofia sarmentosa seedling we planted on 06Feb2012. Plant has adjusted quite well and after 9 days, her colorful blooms are showing nicely. The mild winter fits her really well.

I have 'Ascot Rainbow' and really like it. The groundhogs eat my kniphofia so they have moved to the front yard in front of the fence. We'll see how it goes.
You and I are always among the early birds Jo Ann. On days when I work I don't always have time to post in the morning (I leave home around 6:30 a.m.) but I usually do at least read a few updated threads while I gulp my first coffee.
