I got some Going Bananas daylilies for free last year. They were small and didn't seem to do too well in my clay, so I was going to give dig them out this year. But it turns out they're evergreen in my zone! I love the shot of green in an almost-empty perennial bed.

I'm also surprised that foxgloves are evergreen in my zone. I kept waiting for it to die back, but it's just as green as it was in September.

JoAnn, My heucherella's aren't doing very well, either. They look half dead. Oh, and my chocolate chip ajugas look dead, whereas my no-name ajugas are green and beautiful. Shrug!

This is my first winter in my garden, so everything's surprising! Green Grin!

Tee, you've sold me. Soft, clear yellow. Rebloom. Semievergreen. Compact. Sounds like a good companion to the Irish Elf I put in this Fall. Smiling

Hilarious! Tee, I'm so glad you asked about Pete, because I thought I was missing something here. Hilarious!

Wow, my Going Bananas did not look that good last year. Drooling I can't wait for it to redeem itself this summer.

Just curious, but did you get your free Going Bananas Daylily from Great Garden Plants.com.? That is where I got mine and when it bloomed I took pictures and posted them on DG, not to long later they D-mailed me and said they had removed it because it is not a Going Bananas Daylily. Angry So I actually do not know what it is, just another reason to stay away from GGP.com. I was going to show you the flower but I cannot find it, I must have gotten frustrated and deleted it. If it comes up in the spring I will show you all the picture and get your opinion. Blinking

Try Bloodmeal They hate the smell of blood, so do voles, deer and squirrels. Plus the Blood Meal is an organic fertilizer. Red directions. Green Grin!

Susan, I couldn't remember which vendor had sent it to me, but I do think the DL might have come as a free gift from Great Garden Plants.

Now I'm very curious to see if I really have Going Bananas! The few blooms that I got looked very similar to the ones posted here by Tee. Shrug!

The only camera I have right now is attached to my computer. Glare I will most definitely borrow a camera and post a picture of the bloom this summer.

One question on the bone meal. How frequently do you have to apply it? I've tried the good old Maine fox pee but you have to replace it too often.
