Invest in the best pair of gloves you can afford. Good gloves will outlast many pairs of cheap ones.

I purchased 5 pair of Atlas gloves via one of Pam's (WoodThrush) co-ops and I absolutely love them -- still working with the first pair and havent gotten any holes in them or anything! I love these gloves!!! Lovey dubby Lovey dubby

ATLAS GLOVES ROCK!

I have NEVER been able to use gloves before.
I have really small hands and they got in the way more than they helped.
UNTIL these Atlas ones.
You can even FEEL what you're doing in them!

I'll have to look into the thermals.
Sound like they'd be good for shoveling snoe and scraping windshields....

I am a glove hater but after reading what so many of you have to say......

Well, let's put it this way; if I find myself thinking i might have some use for gloves then I certainly know what kind to get. And, it occurs to me that my little fingers might get cold up here during certain seasons so...... I'm thinking thermal might be in order.

I never used to wear gloves either, but after hearing about all the cases of horrible infections and flesh eating diseases that people are getting, I figure it's a small price to pay to avoid those things. And these are so light weight that I'm able to wear them for almost anything. Sometimes with the heavier gloves they're too heavy to actually be able to feel anything when working with small and delicate plants.

On topic but OT, last year when I saw my PC doc for the yearly thing, I told him I was due for a tetanus shot. He laughed & looked at me as if I were crazy nuts! Grumbling He asked why in the world I thought I might need a tetanus shot. Blinking I looked at him as if he were crazy nuts! Green Grin! And silently vowed to get a new PC doc. Thumbs down But I told him that I'm a gardener & you never know what you're going to encounter while gardening, digging in the dirt & such. You might cut yourself with pruners, or any # of things can be lurking beneath the soil surface. He said he would give me the shot if I was set upon it. Grumbling SHEESH! Makes you wonder.......

But I DIDI get my shot. Big Grin

I can't believe he has a license to practice medicine. My doctor makes sure I keep up to date on tetanus shots. I had a friend that almost died before they diagnosed tetanus.

It took me a very long time to learn to wear gloves, I'm getting pretty good about it now. Thumbs up

Sometimes I think the very worst doctors all come to practice in Florida --- south Florida where all those retirees with the great health insurance live.

Get this ---- honest to goodness this is true --- I had to call around about getting a specialist for my dh. Two of the 3 local specialists down there REFUSED to see anyone who did not have either Blue Cross or some other brand of insurance (I forget which one). Since those were not dh's insurance carrier I told them we would pay cash up front. They said NO! Grumbling Confused Confused Confused

Shrug!

And that's just one of the many reasons we decided to leave. Oh, & there isn't a single solitary dentist who works over 4 days a week. Huh?

I use the thermal ones year-round. They offer perfect protection against thorns. I used to wear leather gloves, but they got ruined whenever they got wet, and how do you garden without getting your gloves wet?
