You can also place some of the black bird netting over the pot. The stakes will hold the netting up away from the plants. : )

Thumbs up
This is a little seedling from a sowing last June. It's about the size of a quarter or more.

They all look alike, so may turn out to be one variety, although the seed envelope said a variety.

(I put the little fence in to keep the birds from pecking and it worked.)

Looking good!

I suspect we'll see more color variation once they go through a winter.

I never planted my packet of semp seeds and probably won't at this point.

Hurray! Janice those are amazing. I can't believe how much they have grown.
I'm with Tabby, I think you will begin to see differences once they have gone through some seasonal changes. Will be so much fun to see what happens with them.

I am finding little seedlings all over my beds. When they get a little larger I will remove them into nursery flats with tags showing what plants they were by.

Try giving them more sun as well. Might help bring out the color.

Thanks! Thumbs up

I separated the different varieties that were all clumped together. We'll see how they like that.

I am sure they won't miss a beat, as some little ones were overturned by a pecking bird and I replanted them just fine.

They are tough little guys. nodding

Where do you buy them from? I think I would feel better about experimenting with seeds, instead of killing plants that someone so kindly shares with me. Hilarious! Hilarious!
