What fields would you like to see specific to Daffodils?

For starters:

A field for Division. This could be a drop down box of the 13 divisions to choose from.

This is going to be a lot more efficient if one of you could list out all the options that we want for each data field so I can put them directly into the architecture here. If I have to go to web links and pull down information, there's a very good chance something will get missed.

Do you want them displayed with the word "DIVISION" in all capitals like that?

Also, does the hyphen after 13 belong?

Features to list:

Season:

Very Early
Early
Mid Season
Late
Very Late

These seasons will differ according to lacation so I doubt it's a good idea to list months with flowering periods.

Categories:

Historical Variety
Scented Daffodils
Miniature Daffodils
Intermediate Size
Tall Daffodils

I'm not sure 'tall' fits here as most don't grow that tall. (I added tall as there is a difference, some are listed as tall!)

I'm not sure if colour is necessary either, they are white or yellow perianth with white, yellow, green, orange, red or pink corona. Could color be included somehow in the categories? Some are bicoloured too but the main colour is usually dominant.

White perianth
Yellow perianth
White corona
Yellow corona
Orange corona
Green corona
Red corona
Pink corona

There's doubles with bicoloured centres and singles with a coloured corona rim, may bicoloured can be included if colours are listed.

Dave, the Divisions in Caps are the way they always appear in Catalogs and books.
As to Div 11with A & B, Janet, what do you think?

I wondered about Div. 11 too Janice, maybe that would make it too complicated, see what Dave thinks.

The nice thing about the Divisions is they have the flowering time and US zone hardiness defined, so alot of the information can be listed with a Databox description at the header page for each Division. That will make alot less data that needs to be entered for each individual Daffodil.

Same thing with the tulips.

Corona ( with a drop down box of the colors) ..........................white, yellow, gold, orange, red, pink, green

other category

I don't think there are any daffs with a red, pink, orange or green perianth Janice, most are a shade of yellow or white.

Perhaps best to stick with the simple combinations? There are some with a green corona, I'm not sure how we could add that as a combination. Maybe 'White or yellow with green' would cover it?
