oh Vic you are not alone.. I cried when a sparrow flew into my window.. I picked it up put it in a box with towels.. it didn't make it either.. I cried like a 5 year old

I got one of the hummie feeders and placed it near the little one..hopefully it will try and drink..

tarev, do you have any wildlife rehab places around?

at least it's sitting up.. do you have a local vet that treats wildlife?.. I know the clinic near my house takes wild animals free if you bring them in.. and fixes them up

Having a delayed teary eye effect...shock and awe!

So many times they are just stunned & it takes them a little while to recover. I'm glad this one did.

I got excited! I thought I saw little one again! Resting on one of my hanging planters where the feeder is.



Moved to the nearby hanging planter, on closer look, nope, not this one..the other one had a red throat.
Must just be taking cover from the strong wind gusts.

Too bad you couldn't have somehow tagged him so you would be able to tell for sure when you saw him.

Yeah..the little one is careful enough to hide its legs. Very cautious even in a daze.

So, so small and delicate - and then you get this one walking around me last week at 6' tall. Nature is just so awe-inspiring.

I can't get over how thick those legs are!

Interesting bird, Glen! Thick feet and that crown looks hard and thick too! I bet it can put a hurt on! I've never seen one before, ever, anywhere! What is it? Kinda looks like an ostrich but kinda looks like an emu

Glen - Isn't that a cassowary? World's most dangerous bird? Can kill a human with a single kick to the chest, let alone the claws... Why on earth was one walking around you.. or rather yet, why were you allowing one to walk around you? Do you work at a zoo or nature preserve or something?
