No, Kitty, it is a wild Southern Cassowary. It took a lot of work to find it. I was especially in the north to photograph one. This bird was in the yard of an unoccupied holiday home guzzling the fruit off a shrub in the pouring rain in a small village surrounded by rainforest.

Naturally, it didn't occur to me that it would come right up to me. There was nothing I could do once it spotted me and approached. I was a bit disconcerted. The strong legs and claws can disembowel but attacks are very uncommon Christine.
The problem is that when you are young your life it is ruined by your parents. When you are older it is ruined by your children.
