Autumn Marigolds

This banner is from a photo of a row of marigolds blooming in late October, 2016. The weather has been dark, cloudy and gloomy; yet these generic marigolds seemed to add a little cheerfulness to the fall gardens. Everything around them was readying for winter.

I agree, it is a great banner. Cheery and colorful and those types of Marigolds (single french style) are my favorite and the pollinators.

Thank you everyone. I had looked at this a few weeks ago and forgot all about it. We grow them now from volunteer seedlings that show up all over the gardens, including the veggie patch. I did plant some "Sweet Cream" marigolds in another garden so maybe I'll have seedlings there next spring.

I think this is the picture I took the banner from;
it's been a year so I'm not sure. (2016)

What a fertile and rich impression these little hard workers make into the fading Summer season of the Midwest.

I love this banner! Beautiful.

Thanks everyone for your nice comments, thumbs and acorns!
I was out in the zinnias yesterday when I got my first sighting of a Monarch
Butterfly in 2017! I had one shot before it took off and it worked. I was
beginning to think they were extinct in my area, but this one proved me
wrong. I'll just have to keep planting more marigolds and zinnias each
year to keep them happy!
