Our driveway goes downhill also. We have a flat section near the garage, but the downhill section is scary during Winter weather.

Where in Northern KY are ya? Did you tell me Alexandria before? We're a few miles West of the International Airport in Hebron.

Yep, I'm near Alexandria. I'm waiting for more thawing before I try to get the car back on the driveway. I'm pretty sure the rear driver's side tire is on the ground, but it may be just hovering on a pile of leaves...think I'll go look, just for fun.

Aww, thanks! It got up in the 40's Sunday evening, so it was easy to just roll it forward onto the driveway. I won't try THAT again!

Me too. I'm gradually covering up all the blasted grass I don't want to mow by putting down paper, topsoil, and then other groundcover. AM contemplating the "no mow" grass mix from High Country Gardens for the largest grassiest area I have.

What is in that mix critter?

I don't know, but whatever it is it doesn't get more than 4-5" tall and therefore requires no mowing

I looked it up, it's a dwarf mix of fescue grass. Hope I spelled that correctly. I'm having computer problems and unable to connect to anything except ATP and Cubits.

Well, if you hafta have your sites restricted, those are 2 good ones to have!

How many of you are just about ready to start planting?
In about 2 more weeks I'll go out and prep my tomato bed, including putting down the newspaper.
I'll get my newspaper from out local recycling center.

Cardboard works even better than newspaper.
It's never to late.

I want to get rid of more lawn this year. Bring on the cardboard and newspaper.

Good GRIEF it seems too early to be "just about ready to plant".
But my crocuses opened this week, so.....
And I haven't even put out my Winter Sowing jugs yet.......

We are so wet right now, there isn't much I can do outside. I've been making plans for the area I want to cover with cardboard and newspaper.
