Not many perennials have emerged yet. Even the natives which I grow are missing. The only ones blooming are Scilla and my double bloodroot. I have yet to see any echinacea, columbine, uvularia, trillium or wood poppies. It was a very warn windy day today. The soil is nice and moist but a good rain would be beneficial.

Never pass on Polemoniums! They're not fancy or rare but they are nice infillers that are super easy to grow and tough as old boots as well.

Jackie, some of my favorites, columbine and roses! Bluebird is a really nice one.

Thanks, Loretta - someone said that if you have differently colored columbines, they'll all end up the same color, so I am certainly enjoying the contrast of the red vs. blue Thumbs up

Jackie, I never get seedlings that look anything like the songbird series. Those types usually die out after the third season here. The smaller flowered varieties do reseed but they seem to keep their colors.
Jackie nice photo of the yarrow!

Thanks, Loretta -- it's hard to take clear pictures while crouching (or without a tripod) so I delete many as I 'approve/ditch' my photos Hilarious!

I hope I have the ones that come back the same. I am letting a couple seed pods mature but not sure if they even grow true from seed. These are my first and only ones. Excited because the Bluebird is going to bloom again! Hurray! Hurray!

A few days in the 80's have really made things grow. The ephemerals are starting to arrive in numbers along with tons of daffodils and tulips.

Each day is better! The last few days of 80+ temps have really made the trees and shrubs leaf out and some are starting to bloom. Raining today so expecting the green to truly be lush in the the following days.
