Both Slcs make me say ohhhhhh Lovey dubby Lovey dubby
re temperature and color, I think you are right!
And the color on the 'YT' is just gorgeous!! Cute Pot. too.
You know, I don't really grow Phals ( they don't do well for me outside in the Summer) but those re-blooms can be rewarding too, don't they? I have a couple of white re-blooms, which I enjoy at the moment.

I'd try all the light settings on your camera. Sometimes I set my whites using white balance custom settings and it helps.

So pretty, all your flowering orchids. Mine have to weather the outside and I have to be patient for them to flower when they are good and ready Glare

Ursula, whatever that Asctm is called, it is surely a beauty. Well done.

Lindsey, All of my Psychopsis plants put up a full spike before they begin the sequential blooming. Also, nice show and vivid colors. Ny favorite is the YT.

It must be Phal season as all of mine are spiking.

I found the earlier bloom, on the right...taken in July . At that point we had already had 3 months of
extreme heat, in the 90's -100's. It's amazing the difference!

Thanks Jim. Smiling
Lindsey, it is amazing - that is almost a different bloom. The semi-peloric petals are gorgeous on the later blooms, and almost non-existent on the July bloom.

While Football is on.....
Paph Lynne Cassidy
It was around 2004 or 2005 that I picked up a flask of Paph Black Currants x Macabre 'Candor Blackheart' HCC/AOS at an orchid fest, simply for the fun of it. I un-flasked about 30 little babies and then over the course of the next years lost some here and there. Birds picked out some of the Sphagnum along with some of the babies, some more expired until I was left with 2 decent, healthy plants. I was moving some stuff around a few weeks ago, not realizing there was a good size bud on one of the plants (and an emerging one on the other), I managed to break it off. Not happy!! But - I waited for the second bud to open, and here it is.
First the ring with the 2 plants ( older picture)

Bree, have you ever seen Paphs ready to fly like that? We thought the little wings were amusing.
Those Paphs are in a tree fern ring and the little orange blooms are on the little piece of Mediocalcar decoratum, but that one didn't make it too long.

I love that Psychopsis, Ursula. The Paph pictures are nice as well. Perhaps I should give them another try now that the OC is in place. By the way, I'm off to Apopka tomorrow. I applied yet another coat of fire retardant to my shoes so I should be ready. I've been running wind sprints at the gym as well. Wish me luck.

Hilarious! Casual lurkers must think we're strange. The scary part is they're probably right. I blame all this on Kathy. Rolling on the floor laughing
