This one seems to have sort of pink veins around the edges of the petals
Thumb of 2012-02-03/bree/49ddb5 don't you love how they open a green colour and go pink so quick....

While Bree is enjoying the lovely scent of her pretty Spotty -
Here is my Phragmipedium Jason Fischer 4N. I bought this one in 2004 from Jason Fischer himself at the Orchidfest in Chicago.
Thumb of 2012-02-04/Ursula/c1c0bb
It has flowered nicely a couple of times through the years and then almost died in-between. But it re-grew and a really nice bloom opened yesterday on a not all that large of a plant. (My regular/2N Phrag Jason Fischer is a much larger plant, also blooming now)
Just open in the greenhouse yesterday:
Thumb of 2012-02-04/Ursula/a21c44
and today:
Thumb of 2012-02-04/Ursula/8f6a41 Thumb of 2012-02-04/Ursula/589ac8
And the 2N/regular bloom.
I grew this one up from a very small seedling bought around 2005. The pouch is unbalanced small, hopefully the other buds open up a bit nicer. Unfortunately many of the blooms on this one are somewhat unbalanced.

Thanks Carol. But if you compare the two, the regular one is simply not as nicely shaped as the 4N bloom. But both have that gorgeous color which I like very much. So I keep them both....

Ursula, very nice Phrag. Jason Fischer. I have no chance of growing them here so I always enjoy their pics.

Bree, I enjoyed the three sisters photo. I still think you are the Paph queen. Very pretty Rlc as well.

I've had a couple of weeks with no new blooms but discovered Dendrobium Upin King 'Serenade' had opened this morning.

Beautiful Jim! Aren't Cyms wonderful? As cut flowers they will last for a month. One of my Asian neighbor just planted 5 of them in their flower bed. I'll be watching to see how they fare in the ground.
Got to remember to ask Andy why we don't have Spaths around here.

You know what I hate? BUGS!!
Looking at my Lc Fire Dance 'Patricia' today, the buds are breaking through the sheaths, so I spent some time moving things around ( very carefully). If possible, I like to move budding/blooming plants to the front of the greenhouse. ( I think I leave them upstairs this year, at least one of them) Both plants were totally free of bugs when I moved them inside last September. Well, looking them over, one was clean, the other had some nice scale infestation on the side towards the glass. grrrrrr Thumbs down So I spent the next hour cleaning up that plant. Looks fine now. Thanks to the Orchid Gods for that triple Bayer stuff!

Some more stuff blooming here -
The plant which I picked up for sure this time as Asctm miniatum at the SEPOS last Spring ( absolutely 100% ) may be neither miniatum or garayi. ( many Asctm sold as miniatum are actually garayi) Looking at the lip, it is definitely not recurved, which is supposed to be characteristic of miniatum. And it looks different from my garayis. Perhaps it is a var. of Asctm ampullaceum, maybe var aurantiacum....

And the Lc Irene Finney x from the Hoosier sale opened another very nice spike. Lc Miss Wonderful or not, I like the plant. The first spike is still hanging on.

Hmmmm. I used to go to a Vietnamese restaurant in AZ called Three Sisters! Hilarious! So pretty Bree.
Ursula, my Asctm ampullaceum is in spike so we can compare. Anyone want to see Richard's orchids from Kew? http://forum.crazyorchidlady.c...

Thanks Kathy. I think I am truly leaning towards Asctm ampullaceum var aurantiacum. Mine looks suspiciously like the one on Andy's website.
I am happy that Richard is posting his gorgeous bloom from Kew again, I have really missed him here. Although I don't think he followed us from Cubits.

Ursula, What a beautiful plant and flower on you Phrag. Jason Fischer..and how neat
that you got to meet him in person!
Bree, I wish I had your Paph. talent...those two are just amazing with all those multiple blooms...
do they normally do that for you?
Jim, about your Psychopsis alba 'Yellow Butterfly'..I have a small plant that is just putting out it's first spike,
do you know if it blooms on a short spike, and then as it ages the spike gets taller,..or does the spike get
tall then the blooms come? I'm wondering about putting a support stick in, but don't want to disrupt the roots
until I have to repot it...unless I have to!
