Hi.
Tags bleaching in the sun: bothersome at best. One of my neighbors threw out a venitian blind. One man's trash is another man's treasure. I rescued it before it was picked up by the garbage truck. I removed the strings, keeping only the slats. I cut an appropriate section of slat (about 6 inches), punch a hole at one end with a paper punch and engrave the plant's name on both sides using a Dremel tool. The tag is then attached to the plant with a zip tie. The sun can bleach the plastic all it wants, the engraving will not go away. No fuss, no muss. Cheap Dremel-like tools are available at Harbor Freight Tools. I didn't see forking out the cash for a genuine Dremel just for that application.
I was getting a few pix for Ebay and took these as well. The dark red was my "show" plant at the Saturday Market.Needless to say,I had my best day this year.I think I will take the purple next week.
They look great, was it a show where they award 1st 2nd and 3rd places? Yours would be a 1st in my book. Is that bottom pic a black Asia? I think I see black on the edge.
Jim,the purple is a grafted plant from Asia and the red is a seedling from one of Mr Ko's seed.I have had the purple for a couple of years and have forgotten who the seller was.
