I love bulbs of any sort: daffs, tulips, hyacinth, iris, all of them! I love that they are simple, erect, singular and that they multiply! I've not had great luck with them in the desert here in Phoenix, however.

Are we including corms, rhizomes AND bulbs in this conversation?

Yes, i most certainly do!! [remember it's summer here at the moment]We organise a large[Claremont Daffodil Show] in September, ..and with such variations in season times,i plant a varied blooming crop of daffs[including miniatures] so that i can be competitive[in a low level]...Not my forte, but being a show group member, i must lead by example..[which i well and truly excell in, at the lilium show]...I recently dug about 100 lbs of spring bulbs,from my late mentors garden, and donated them to our trade table, [held at the lily show], to be sold off cheaply and spread around the growers, 'as she would have wanted'.,.,I also grow tulips,crocus, ranunculas and just about anything else with a green stem

In 2009 (the year I bought my house) and 2010, I planted about 200 spring bulbs each fall. last year, I got sidetracked and didn't get any planted, but yes, I LOVE spring bulbs! What I do to maximize my spring surprise...I put all the bulbs, regardless of type, in one big box and lug it around the yard with me. Then I dig trenches, and sprinkle bulbs in the trenches.

Yeah, I don't concern myself with different depths, ensuring the bulbs face upwards, etc. My method makes some people cringe but it makes for fun in the spring!

Bulbs were not an option for me in zone 10 unless I wanted to feel like a murderer when they died. But I am looking forward to bulbs galore next spring!

I love bulbs. Ours are coming up early this year, do to the weird, relatively warm winter we are having.
Daffodils, tulips, crocus, hyacinth and snow drops.

I do have spring bulbs, planted on little containers, coz I know they normally wither away so fast when the heat comes in, though they are surely hanging on this time a little longer, with mild winter and have really sprouted quite early too. The ones that have sprouted already are the daffodils, and I see the hyacinths trying to peek as well.

There's very few bulbs that will grow here but one variety of Hippeastrum wil, also Crinums and Hymenocallis. Tubers and rhizomes give us a far greater range, such as the many aroids and Morning Glories. Regardless of the climate nature always provides something.

Daffodils are one of my favorite flowers. Love those bulbs!

Being Dutch, tulips crocuses and daffodils were always in my gardens. Now I have Amaryllis as spring bulbs!

I love spring bulbs but have given up on tulips.Deer get them every year no matter how hard I spray.
I planted 200 mini daffs last fall , Mostly to keep voles away from the lilies.

The second year we were here, I dug up 1879 daffodil bulbs and sold them, gave them away, threw them in a hole the dogs dug. That only left me with about 4092. In the 19 years since then, I've moved, given away, bought some more, thinned, re-thinned. there were a lot of daffs here! Not so much on the tulips, but I have remedied that and some of them have survived our heavy clay into the double digit years. There are crocus, fall crocus, muscari (or as my youngest daughter called them when she was little, blue tree flowers). There were some hyacinths, but I gave them away - I am extremely allergic to them. I have fritillaria meleagris, snow drops, snow flakes (leucojum), saffron crocus (although they didn't bloom this year, or else I missed, which happens sometimes), and some stembergia that occasionally bloom, but not often. Hmmm, I guess you could say I am definitely in the yes column.

There is something about daffodils. Just looking at them can make you feel happy

However, I can assure you that when the Crocus at Kew Gardens start to bloom (they reputedly planted 2 million of them) it takes your breath away.

Bulbs for sure here. Of all the flowering plants I grow bulbs have always been the easiest ones for me. Well except for lilys but that's due to some of my dogs liking to eat those bulbs.

I have had a few old fashioned daffodils bloom already and have some hyacinths trying to bloom if our recent cold spell didn't do them in.

I planted a large section in hyacinths, tulips and crocus last year for the honey bees. I plan to add more for them this year.

I used to be fairly ambivalent about spring-blooming bulbs; I couldn't see myself as having the desire to dig tulips mid-summer for a couple of short months of storage (where to put them ?), and then have to replant them. For the last couple of years, I've noticed that some tulips, in certain areas of the gardens, don't seem to require this treatment, so I've added a lot more of them in drier (summertime) areas since then. This year will be the first to find out if some of those tulips left in the ground year-round return.
