So with a little luck, Anne might get a Prince!!!

Toads just give you warts, or so I have been told.

Yes i know what I was holding was a Leopard frog but i was just wondering what you'd get from kissing a toad. Hilarious! I thought toads giving you warts was just a myth. Confused

Oh sorry, I apologize.

Kissing a toad?? Thinking Not too sure about that.

I know that they have those two big glands behind the eyes on their head that secrete a very distasteful liquid designed to have a predator drop them. But if you kiss a toad, does it turn into a disgusting homeless bum??
Would seem a possibility, frog= prince; toad= a homeless bum!?!?! Seems possible. D'Oh! Confused Hilarious!

I've heard of people licking toads to get high. I can think of other, better ways.

I have snuggled toads on my cheeks because they're just so cute, but you couldn't pay me enough money to lick one.

Had a potential prince charming this morning when picked up a little leopard frog. He didn't like me though and leaped out of my grasp. Hilarious!

Last night i went out to check for rabbits and found a big toad. Picked him up without a struggle and told him how fat and cute he was. Lovey dubby Then I placed him in the garden and patted him goodnight.

Several nights ago I came dangerously close to stepping on a grey tree frog. He was sitting at the very top of the backporch steps looking like he were waiting on somebody. I stepped around him and descended to the ground. Right when my foot touched ground the frog jumped and landed on my garden clog. Silly guy. I picked him up to move him aside and he squeaked at me. *Blush*

My watering can sounded funny when I dunked it in my rain bucket. Come to find out there was a fat tree frog in there. Hilarious! (Not the first time it's happened, either!)

I always had loose piles of big rocks in my gardens in OH for toads but when I've tried that here, too many weeds invade.

I don't have many tree frogs lately. I suspect it's because of so many stray cats recently. When they were around, I would often see one hiding in bromeliads. One came inside a few winters ago.

Somehow... My tree frogs are mostly evading my cats... Lots of tadpoles in the rain barrels, and fresh egg clusters each time there's a popcorn shower!
I always think it's fun when anoles and tree frogs hang out inside...

I'm glad you still have frogs around. I take the anoles back outside if I see one on a warm day, but couldn't part with the frog. IDK where it went when I took that pot back outside in the spring but the little frog just hung out in there all winter.

Usually it's the little white ones that I see inside. They are more than welcome. Whatever they're eating, I'm glad.

I was never a frog lover, but having so many tree frogs around me now ... well, I care about them. I had an event that happened to me recently, which I posted in the critters in the daylily garden forum, which really shook me up. I had heard screams in the garden and ran out there to find 2 mating tree frogs in the mouth of a large Florida black racer. I was able to get them released. But I can't shake the sound of the screams. Those frogs were terrified. So now everytime I see a tree frog, I find myself saying a little prayer for there safety. I have fallen in love with them. Lovey dubby

I found the cutest toad today cleaning out our carport. It was under some too-small boxes that I had thought I would use for smothering but after getting wet from sideways rain a few times, they had gone crumbly. It was cool and not totally dry under there. I moved him into the weed patch (supposed to be a "shade garden" but baby trees got away from me and have temporarily taken over. I'll get a chipper soon and they will be my new mulch.)

We have an 'in progress' pond that is presently just an 8'x 18' hole dug in the dirt. We're working this summer to line it, rock the edges and get the waterfall and aeration going - I'm now digging and leveling the first edge shelf and the bog kickback.

It fills with each rain we get and we have the most amazing frog chorus every night, not far from our bedroom window. Love listening to them as I fall asleep.

When I'm in the garden near the pond, I see 4-5" leopard frogs plopping into the water when I get too close. At night, the chorus is filled with tree frogs, peepers and an occasional young bullfrog. Pretty sure we have tadpoles in the pond already, but the water is not clear enough to see them yet.

Many tiny toad-lets in the garden right now - I was surprised by a fat chunky boy hiding under leaves, when I was weeding a garden bed.

Also a good crew of five line bluetail skinks and the plain little brown skink are in the garden already. Yesterday, we saw a large broadhead skink by our shop building. Spring wilds activity is successfully underway here.
Gardening is life!
