My favorite new plant this year is echinacea hot papaya. OK, it's a nursery-bought hybrid, not wintersown, but I think it's going to be my new favorite plant, which happens to be red.

I want that, lol! I think I have one ordered from Warren. If not, then I must rectify that;) Pretty mixed with the gaillarda and the white flower behind it.

Beautiful poppies, Bev.

Karen--have you had good luck with your hot papaya? I'm struggling with Hot Lava. My tomato soup, mac n cheese and milkshake are all thriving. Of my 3 hot lava, one is alive and tall, but not branching; the other two are sitting there, not much larger than the plugs were last year. May consider Hot Papaya as a replacement--want that pop of color.

Linda, my hot papaya looks good so far, but I've only had it a couple of weeks.

Those are beautiful portulaca, Bev. Love that hot pink color. I purchased one this year that was called "strawberries & cream". It was that hot pink with some lighter pink streaking--probably one of the prettiest I've seen. I tend to gravitate to those beautiful pink colors. Is that orange flower helenium? Nice combination!

Thanks and good eye Linda. that's helenium Mardi Gras. It's been there for several years and just keeps getting better every year.
I have had S&C before and agree that it's a beauty. These were seeds that I'd had for a while and wasn't sure that they'd even germinate. So, of course I sowed all of them...and I think all of them came up! There was no way I could transplant that whole mass of them, so they got the hunk treatment.

Great pictures everyone. I didn't get any wintersowing done this year, but I have a very nice Veronica that my friend had wintersowed last year. It bloomed this year.

I love zinnias--they are so colorful, bloom all season, and make great cut flowers. Although I'm disappointed with the Zahara Starlight rose (WSown), I bought some Zahara yellow plants for my mom's garden and they are just blooming their heads off. Each plant has anywhere from 10-12 flowers on it, and the plants are not that large! That one is a definite winner.

One of my favorites is the Wowie Zowie--just love that bright pop of color. My Envy that I wintersowed is also doing well.

I'm also disappointed in the zahara starlight rose. It just looks like white. It's pretty in it's own right I guess, and healthy so far, it just doesn't look like what they advertise.

Nice to know about the starlight rose. I almost ordered that one but put it off since I had tons of other stuff already. I plan on getting Envy for next year..so cool. That Wowie Zowie is bright. Post pics!
