Oh, I forgot to review the Carhartt overalls, that I got for only $25, from Sierra Trading Post!
I'm not one who has worn overalls....ever. With that said, I'll start off with the Cons:
First off, They're not the most figure flattering. The legs are roomy (aka VERY wide
), and I'm not a small gal, so these overalls probably make me look more like "Farmer Joe", rather than "Farmer Dana"!
NBD.....I'm not out there to be a fashion plate anyway....and B, They are about 3 1/2 inches too long!
My legs aren't short at all, but I'd rather have them too long than too short!
NBD, bc I can shorten the hem, and perhaps use the extra material to add more loops and pockets bc one can't ever have too much storage, right?!
So these cons are NOT deal breakers IMO!
Pros:
Once I figured out how to hook the straps
I rolled up the pant legs, strapped on the boots, and went outside.....(on March 27th and haven't been out there since.
Don't get me started
) Anyway, these overalls are fantastic! They are mostly cotton with a little lycra for stretch factor (and they won't shrink!
) so they moved with me!
Even on my knees, there was no uncomfortable tugging at all!
There are plenty of pockets on these overalls which makes me VERY happy! The side buttons and strap "hooks" served their purpose well and kept things buttoned and together, so there'll be no wardrobe malfunction (and subsequent arrest) while donning these overalls in public!
The construction and jean material is high quality and rugged, so I expect these overalls will last a good long time
Being I hold a Bachelor's in Textiles and Clothing, and I've been sewing since I was 10 yrs. old, I am VERY picky, and these overalls hold up to some serious scrutiny!
All in all, I couldn't be more happy with these overalls!
This is why Carhartt has such a great reputation! They KNOW their overalls!
I'll definitely be ordering at least one more pair and perhaps turn them into cut-off shorts for Summer!
(This was NOT a paid review....)
EDITED to add: FYI, there were only two sizes available (L & XXL), at the time I purchased these bibs. Limited sizes and such tends to be a regular thing with Sierra Trading Post, so I'm thinking they sell closeouts and overstock items.
But there are bargains galore, and I hit paydirt with these Carhartt bibs!
