Great tip Joanna! I guess it's time to find one near me. City girl... Hilarious! Hilarious! Or go to Harbor Freight, as mentioned before...

My new gloves are quite underwhelming. They're the kind you can keep on when using the cell phone. First of all, the right forefinger seams were twisted a bit, so the pad for using the phone was off a bit. Secondly, they're not real leather. Didn't realize it at the time, and 'C', the vinyl-ish covering on the left forefinger, for using the cell phone, is wearing off after day 1 in the gardens! Glare Glare Really? Blinking It's a good thing they were deeply discounted! I got two pair, so perhaps both will last me this season. Well, ya get what ya pay for!! D'Oh! D'Oh!

I feel that way about most things.

I have followed this thread but don't have much to offer. I work in jeans/work shirts so when they get old, they go down to the outdoor work level. Never have bought "new" for outdoors.

For my working clothes, I buy jeans at Duluth and LL Bean. They hold up well but I try not to pay their catalogue prices. I get their emails and they will run specials. LL Bean is always free shipping also. The shirts come from catalogue sales, dollar stores, discount racks at Tractor Supply.

Work gloves are boxes of nitrile gloves which I wear and dispose of. I wear them not to keep my hands beautiful (they aren't) but because my finger tips dry out and split painfully.

For heavier work, I buy cheap mens leather gloves and use them till I wear the fingers out. No need to worry about cell phone gloves as I get no cell service where I work outdoors. Whistling What a blessing!

Good question Ginny! I tip my hat to you. I tip my hat to you.

So, after my first pair of mail order overalls had to be returned bc they were terribly small, I was trying on this new second pair, and I thought the "overall gods" were messing with me just for kicks and giggles, bc there were no buttons to hook the straps on! Confused So I took a photo to give my terribly disappointed review on this thread, and while looking at the photo in disbelief, for a spell, it hit me! I'm such a bib overall rookie! D'Oh! D'Oh! Not sure if this is exclusive to Carhartt, but it's pretty ingenius! Smiling Smiling

Oh, I forgot to review the Carhartt overalls, that I got for only $25, from Sierra Trading Post! D'Oh!

I'm not one who has worn overalls....ever. With that said, I'll start off with the Cons:
First off, They're not the most figure flattering. The legs are roomy (aka VERY wide Hilarious! ), and I'm not a small gal, so these overalls probably make me look more like "Farmer Joe", rather than "Farmer Dana"! Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing NBD.....I'm not out there to be a fashion plate anyway....and B, They are about 3 1/2 inches too long! Blinking My legs aren't short at all, but I'd rather have them too long than too short! Smiling NBD, bc I can shorten the hem, and perhaps use the extra material to add more loops and pockets bc one can't ever have too much storage, right?! nodding nodding So these cons are NOT deal breakers IMO! Smiling

Pros:
Once I figured out how to hook the straps *Blush* *Blush* Rolling my eyes. I rolled up the pant legs, strapped on the boots, and went outside.....(on March 27th and haven't been out there since. Glare Don't get me started Sighing! ) Anyway, these overalls are fantastic! They are mostly cotton with a little lycra for stretch factor (and they won't shrink! Thumbs up ) so they moved with me! Smiling Even on my knees, there was no uncomfortable tugging at all! Smiling There are plenty of pockets on these overalls which makes me VERY happy! The side buttons and strap "hooks" served their purpose well and kept things buttoned and together, so there'll be no wardrobe malfunction (and subsequent arrest) while donning these overalls in public! Hilarious! Hilarious! The construction and jean material is high quality and rugged, so I expect these overalls will last a good long time Hurray! Hurray! Being I hold a Bachelor's in Textiles and Clothing, and I've been sewing since I was 10 yrs. old, I am VERY picky, and these overalls hold up to some serious scrutiny! Thumbs up Thumbs up

All in all, I couldn't be more happy with these overalls! Hurray! Hurray! This is why Carhartt has such a great reputation! They KNOW their overalls! Hilarious! I'll definitely be ordering at least one more pair and perhaps turn them into cut-off shorts for Summer! Whistling nodding nodding

(This was NOT a paid review....)

EDITED to add: FYI, there were only two sizes available (L & XXL), at the time I purchased these bibs. Limited sizes and such tends to be a regular thing with Sierra Trading Post, so I'm thinking they sell closeouts and overstock items. Smiling But there are bargains galore, and I hit paydirt with these Carhartt bibs! Hurray! Hurray!

No, they don't that I could find, and believe me, I hunted and hunted for that, which is why I was so excited to have found the zip off (leg) feature on a pair by Rosie's Workwear, which turns them in to shorts just above the knee. They fit "too good" on me, and I bought their largest size, XL. There was no room for shrinking at all! Very bummed about that Glare

Now, I have to send a couple of Rosie's Workwear T-shirts back (on my dime Glare ) bc one fit like, two sizes too small, and the other fit nicely, but didn't leave any room for shrinking, and both were supposedly the same size. Glare Womens' plus sizing is not their thing at all! Glare They're good quality construction, so those of you who are not plus size may like some of their clothing! Smiling

Duluth has overalls that are shorts. I just don't have the 79 bucks to drop for them Blinking It's cheaper for me to get another pair of Carhartts (from Sierra Trading Post ONLY) and cut them in to shorts. Smiling

Thanks, Dana! I'm not an "overall person" either, but those sound very very tempting. I never have enough pockets, and I need long legs in late summer when the skeeters get bad... wide legs would mean ventilation, I hope!

I find Denim & Co shorts, jeans and pedal pusher pants last me for a long time plus they are comfortable as they have some stretch in the fabric so bending and moving is easy. I think the prices are reasonable and when they are on sale even better. These are my go to brand for daily wear they have plenty of different colors and when they get a little older they are my garden wear.

No overalls for me, just not my thing.

I equate overalls with having to do an almost-complete undress to visit the "facilities". Not my cup of tea. LOL
