Well, the birds were still winning, so I gave in and put up netting....

We'll see how that goes.

The Cherokee Purple are budding.

My late husband also resorted to netting after the many bird attacks. This was our "tomato room" in the vegetable garden.

It worked to keep the birds out and our tomatoes were not harmed.

Sounds like a good time to start teaching caution on the internet as well as gardening.

I guess she is learning patience. Awfully hard for a 6 year old, but it is paying off, and she is also learning that all living things require some kind of care.

Once again, it has been a while since we have posted.....my apologies.

We got some nice tomatoes on the last harvest. Sorry I neglected to post pics.

Here's a pic of the next harvest coming in.

We are still having a great time with this, in spite of my slacking in keeping those of you that helped us informed of our progress.

:)

well, after over a year hiatus, we are back again!
We started a bunch of seedlings, so we'll be trimming those back and rolling again!

thank you, Carol.

we have 6 different varieties of heirloom tomatoes, jalapeno, peas, and carrots this time.

we seeded ambitiously, figuring on a low success rate, but, almost everything took, so, we may have more than we can handle.

probably going to give some of the seedlings away locally.

I hope you (and all others who helped support us in our endeavor) are well.

Scott and daughter.

Well, we have our first buds starting...

Flower buds are squash blossom

Cherry tomato starting

Not sure what happened to the carrots...the seedlings did great, but they all died shortly thereafter...I will need to research

The pots are a variety of heirloom tomatoes, peas, and basil

I like all the pots. How is the bunny doing with homeschooling? Isn't it great that you started a garden before the quarantine came along?
