NoIDs in bloom at the moment. This one comes from Judy Schneider of Shady Spot Iris. An end of season noID sale 2016, $1 a rhizome I couldn't pass up on a fun mystery bloom.

Here's a small look into how several varieties reacted to the fertilizer this year. I can't believe how big things are turning out.

Here's one that froze last year. This one sits under the storm drain and is outright a freak of nature. This should be my biggest clump once in full bloom.

Some really nice modern tall varieties on the way soon.
Gimme it and I'll grow it!

Thanks Bonnie. It is much happier now in it's second year.

Next up is one that a few have posted pics of recently. It is an early bloomer for me and I absolutely love the color and the velvety falls.

Gabe, that first one looks to have the form of an Arilbred.

Leslie it is so nice to see your iris blooming! Here there are only short stubby green things sticking up and another snow event predicted for Monday... Grumbling

I'll just plop myself down in the hammock and join the group watching yours bloom!

Somebody pass the sweet tea, please!

Pam, I saw the weather forecast for your area on the national news. They say the cold could continue for two weeks? Sure hope they are proven wrong for you since PA has been getting blasted.

Possibly could be. Judy said i could get mystery arils in the bunch. Never seen one in person so I have no comparison. If so though its a plus they can grow here.

Here's a view of it first openening. The reason i kept the bunch was in hopes of finding an aril

Happy Easter!

This is a newer SDB from Hugh Stout called Backtrack. The standards have a bit of frost damage so they are more crinkly than normal.

Not the best shade shot:
Thumb of 2018-04-01/Lestv/069588

It spent most all of yesterday in full sun:

This is an SDB from Donald Spoon called Winter Embrace. You can see it's Lumilite heritage in the lime green at the hafts. The falls are a very pale aqua that shows better in shade. I am waiting on more blooms to see if some have more pronounced fall color.

Full sun - very little of the blue photographs
