Liz, so glad to hear that warmer weather is heading your way. Can't wait to see pics of your new Solaris Farms TP blooms! Southernpeony blog said many good things about Fuschia Ruffles.

Annette, love that combo of the yellow baptisia and blue iris with the mislabel Couronne D'Or. Is that Carolina Moonlight? Some years ago Neal posted a pic of her CM baptisia with irises and peonies and I was in love. Mine is still a small plant but hopefully it will give me a couple of blooms.

Peonies with baptisia and irises is such a perfect combination of forms! I found a baptisia last year that is new to me called Pink Truffles. It hasn't emerged yet, but I have a couple of other varieties that haven't sprouted yet either, so I'm not worried yet but I am watching for it tapping my foot.

Thanks for all the kind wishes. Karen the Sunny Girl is several years old. I have another one, and it is just sitting there. Both SGs have buds, but they aren't opening.

I was surprised that PHC opened before Coral Sunset. Usually it's the other way around. Coral Supreme is trying to bloom, too.

Annette your photos are just gorgeous! Don't feel bad about getting a wrong Plant for Couronne de oro. The one I got from Old House was wrong, too. They gave me a credit.

Liz! You are going to have to lecture Daisy about the turkeys. She needs to run them off!

This morning I was walking up the driveway in the dark and there was a live armadillo up by my hedges. I yelled at him and he turned around and went into the shade Garden. I sure hope he doesn't spend all day in there digging holes. 🙄 D'Oh!

Karen, thanks for your kind comment! I don't remember the name of the baptista, I have several colors that were planted several years ago.

Thanks LG! Even though it's not Cd'O, I still like the bloom. I would have been running in the other direction if there was a armadillo on my driveway😂!

Neal, I agree, the baptista, irises and peonies grow really well together. I'm looking forward to seeing your pictures of Pink Truffles.

Here are a few sweeping pics from today, before our next deluge this afternoon, and with strong thunderstorms and hail expected this evening😔. The garden is really exploding with blooms. I hope they fare well with the next round of storms expected.

I'm loving this time of year, there are peonies every where that I look😊.

Annette, that Iris in photo 1 goes great with that Clematis 😍

I haven't been able to grow foxgloves at all. I think I will try them from seed like you did.

Are you still considering moving? I don't think I would be able to leave that beautiful garden!!

Gary, your garden is looking great. Do you put weed control fabric under the mulch? Keep those peony photos coming!!

SloMo , Welcome!! Love that photo!! You may want to start a species thread if you have more pix to post!

Well, it rained all day and just stopped a while ago. I have some buds to show.

Neal, you are too funny, I laughed so hard when I read your comment!

Gary, I'm having Godaishu envy! I'm so glad all of your plants are doing well for you!

Welcome SloMo! Your Pw is such a beautiful, delicate color!

Thanks LG, and yes, we're still considering moving. We put the house hunting on hold for now, our son is about to graduate from college. You're so right, I'm going to have a tough time leaving this garden, but many of my plants will move with me. I'm happy to hear that your rain has finally stopped. It looks like you're going to have some blooms soon!

Karen, here's more of Variegata di Bologna ( a Bourbon, introduced in 1909). It's planted along my back fence, on a trellis with clematis Kardynal Wyszynski behind it and Andromeda in front of it, to provide interest when the rose is not blooming. It's reported to only bloom once a year, and that's what I've experienced. It can be grown as a shrub or a climber, and it's supposed to to get to 6-10 ft. tall. The fragrance is amazing!

VDiB with KW, Andromeda hasn't started blooming yet

Well here is my 'Angel Emily ' tree peony bloom. I can't tell you how disappointed I am in this one. I planted it in 2015 and I have never had a bloom that looked like what is on the Solaris website. Same bloom, different angles.

LG, it looks like 'Angel Emily' to me Thumbs up Maybe it takes a few years to develop a good bush with robust blooming. And you had a bad spring which surely affected all your peonies. I would wait and evaluate a peony after 5 or 6 years.
