Oh we've ordered TONS and TONS from Swallowtail! FOUR orders this year between the two of us.

Most stuff is awesome. But unfortunately NONE of our Columbines have germinated. I would say we got at least 8 varieties. Mom sowed them under lights. I winter sowed mine. I'm still holding out hope they will sprout. But for now I'm pretty disappointed.

Jen, I actually sowed them in the garden in Jan. looks like one or two may have germinated but that's all.

Columbine are notorious for being difficult to germinate. I've wintersown them with some success, but germ rate was never that high. They can be very slow and irregular, so you might want to hold on to that container for a while.

Thanks Karen. And yet I literally have about 80 seedlings from my existing Columbine. But I guess if you think that they probably throw off hundreds of seeds that could be low germination Sticking tongue out

I plan to keep the jugs all summer just in case.

My order from Bluestone Perennials. They were using the three pack holders and one had only two but I was confused about what was supposed to hold the dirt in the pot. Confused

What a mess! The plants look really good, though. Nicely grown, strong stems. Look like they could handle being planted in the ground. Way better than many mailorders! That clematis looks really vigorous, wish I had ordered it! Did you peek at the roots?
Thumbs up

Cindy, I am dragging but I will be going out shortly and I will get some pics when I re-pot them. Oh, my free plant will be here in the fall and that was a Baptisia called ;Carolina Moonlight'. That was one of my main plants but I wanted two anyway so I will get one from another company and get it started, For me it is a redneck lupine. Thumbs up

Wow, Jo Ann! Those are awesome! Hurray!

I want some! Hilarious!

I had an extra *bonus* with one of my shipments today... a big, nasty-looking slug. I'd never even seen one like it before. Yuck.

Thumb of 2013-04-25/chelle/3f98a0

Couldn't stand to watch it suffer though...had to bag it up and send it out with the trash. *Blush* Out of sight, hopefully out of mind... real soon!

My order from Bluestone arrived this morning. the UPS driver had to wind his way through all the plants on my walkway, and I told him I really really needed more plants. He said the box was spilling dirt in the truck, oops!! Thanks to Susan's comments, I knew to open the box outside. One of the shrubs had lost most of its dirt. They look like decent plants. Roots are a bit young.
I got a calycanthus, 3 hollies, 3 viburnums, and a sorbaria. They are outside enjoying our misty rain now.
Hurray!
