Pine Knot Farms has or had a sale.

I slit the cocopots open to allow root growth.I also recommend make sure there is no pot above ground, the coco wicks out moisture.

Mine always get root bound and the things do not decompose fast enough and the plants will die. They~(bluestone), do their share for the environment but I have to re-pot. If I leave them sitting out in those pots they will dry up and blow away! Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing

I agree!! As soon as I get my stuff from Bluestone I take those pots off and repot until I plant out. Those pots DO NOT hold moisture!!!

I agree, too. I do tear the coir up and stick it in the planting hole and mix in, though.

Now there's an idea! I tip my hat to you.

I got my order from Santa Rosa Gardens and I was a bit disappointed. For one thing they were dry as a bone and dirt was everywhere. Maybe they are too far away, but I don't recall having this problem last year and I ordered all summer, even in August and no problem. What gives? Blinking

I did get a good price on these, I got four Heuchera and a Baptisia. I watered them real good so I will repot and I am sure they will be fine. Now I have a couple of more on my wish list but not sure I will get them here.

I received my order from Santa Rosa gardens on Wednesday. Like Susan, the plants were very dry & some spilt soil. I had ordered some echinaceas & sedums so no problems. Plants were very nice! Sorry I didn't get a pix before they were planted. So many deliveries this time of year. Sticking tongue out

I was pretty unimpressed with my order from High Country Gardens. They were plug-sized, but regular-priced.

I've re-potted them and they seem healthy enough -they're just smaller than I would send -even for a free give-away. Whistling

wow, that's pretty bad. I might email SRG because I do not know what is going on with them. I got plants in the middle of summer last year and they were not that dry. These were BONE dry! Blinking

They are really nice there though. I bet they will make it right. I love that place!

They did make it right last time when I had a broken coneflower. They sent two more for free. These plants are fine, I just wanted to make sure there were aware of the problem. Thumbs up

Becky's plants were the same way and she is in Indiana. Also, I ordered all summer last year and nothing like this. I will look back at my pictures to see if they might have changed their packing method. This happened with New Hampshire Hostas one time and I had dirt everywhere. He admitted that they changed their packing method because they did not think the plastic was necessary. Shrug!

Mine were in transit too long -it was marked on the box. The plants were entirely wrapped in plastic and banded too, so I'm glad I was here when they came...they might have fried.

Got my 16 mums from Bluestone. Plus a free plant, I picked Baptisia. I was completely happy with the whole order. Luckily it is only one day shipping for me. Of course I immediately took off the coir and potted them up in gallon pots for now.

I'm a bit scared about my order from SRG. They will have to come clear across the US. I have ordered there before and they are fine. Susan you have me worried! Blinking

I will be getting mine in a couple of weeks. At least I know if the plants are damaged they have a good rep. of making it right.

I agree I have ordered from them and they always have made me happy. Their prices are the best. I can cut them some slack for smaller plants. I ordered Delosperma from them this year and the plants had blooms on them when I opened the box. They are really good with those.

I received plants from Annie's Annuals and Lazy S and they were packed very, very well. I didn't take photos because I unpacked them at 2a and didn't want to wake up the whole house. Best packing, ever. Pepper's Greenhouse plants are spotty, but usually at least okay. They use a lot of PITA tape all over the pots, but I admit the soil stays in the pot and nothing was broken.
