Gabe @Cuzz4short - can't wait to see the rest of the Thelma pics! And you can see my garden if you come to the EMU game since I am mere blocks away from Duke. It will look much better in the spring though.... Big Grin

Sherry @Henhouse I would be glad to pick up any you are interested in. I have been sending ones to Arlyn (hope they are doing okay?). The garden certainly has some nice hard to find irises.

Greg and all you NC members - the more the merrier. Let's have a meet up!

Good to hear Arlyn! The few I got this year are potted up and growing like gangbusters. Better than some from previous years.

There will be more if I can ever get Gabe to post his pictures. He took pictures of almost everything that was blooming while we were there this year.

Hello Iris Lovers!

I suppose this is an interesting place to make my first post on this forum, but I couldn't resist--I can't be a lurker any longer!

I am a recent graduate of Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, and a budding (pun intended) iris enthusiast. Last winter, a fellow gardener struck up a conversation with me as we were bargain hunting at the Lowe's in town, and when she heard I liked irises, she launched into a tale about the "Iris Lady on Meadowlark" whose fields I simply had to check out when iris bloom season came around. Sadly, I learned after doing some research that I'd missed my opportunity to meet this "iris lady" or purchase any of her rhizomes, as she had recently passed away within the past couple of years... Needless to say, I just admired her irises from afar this year, but if anyone knows how to get in contact with her children (who I understand still maintain the fields), I would love to arrange a well-timed visit to my alma mater in time to see the irises in bloom next year--and maybe dig a rhizome or two!

Happy Gardening,
Will
