My cukes came up ok, then stalled for almost a month and a half. Then we got 12" rain, and they are doing really good. Blooming-all 3 types I tried, tho The Munchers are the healthiest looking

Do they grow well in your area? I will pull out the burpless cucumber plant. I'm waiting until the other 2 cucumber plants take off first. I saw baby cukes, not fertilized yet.

Yea, cucumbers do just fine here. I think I know what happened. I direct seeded them. I found an old bag of Miracle Grow Potting Mix in the shed. I don't use the stuff but kept it not wanting to waste the money. I was thinking it would not hurt if I mixed in with a bunch of other soil. However, I used it to cover the cucumber seeds with because it was a fairly fine mix and easy for seeds to push through.

The cucumbers look like they are burnt as in fertilizer burn. I bet it was the old MG Potting Mix.

Sadly, my burpless cucumber seems to be having mildew. I will remove it today.

Cleared out the last of the radishes and bok choy, now have a nice big patch near the tomatoes to grow my early fortune cucumbers. The garden store ones in another area of the yard are doing well. Sprayed them with a bit of copper fungicide this morning since it's been cold and rainy. Mold (powdery mildew) weather.

My husband finally put in very tall cage for my cucumber bed. I want big strong cucumbers, like Armenian type or English telegraph.

I pulled and potted the two Sweet Success cucumbers. Their root systems looked amazing. Lots of white healthy roots. Above the soil they suffered since they were planted in the new bed. Now they will go into my plant nursery. If I can revive them, I will pot them up in a large pot near an open spot in the trellis.

I found two small Bonnie Plants Burpless Hybrid cucumbers to replace them with. They will be planted tomorrow.

There was a 4 for $ 10.00 sale. So, I also purchased a Cubanelle and a Sweet Basil.

Nice going pod and thank you. It's always nice to have a picture.

What variety is it?

MG soil did me that way last year, tho it is an odd burn look, I just watered a bit more and the plants recovered. I tied mine to the trellis, so many blooms, didn't look for babies yet, it was sprinkling on me... gotta extend the trellis, it isn't going to be tall enough I can tell now. D'Oh!

This one is Homemade. I grew it last year for the first time. It did well so am giving it a second test. I'm also growing Calypso but it is not big enough to graze on yet.

Two of my cucumber plants are doing really well. The other is struggling with mildew. I sprayed some more Neem Oil. It was raining yesterday, that didn't help.

Sumter pickling cuke, my first of season, haven't prowled the rest of the vines tho while I braced the trellis and blocked the deer from exposed vines. I know there was a 2 nd one at ready to pick.

It's hard to imagine deer in the yard. In California we're griped at over a postage stamp size lawn. It must be amazing to have acreage.

It seems like one of my cucumber plants are recovering from mildew problem. The sun is out, but I will keep spraying with mildew.

The Munchers are doing well, have a lusher leaf. I oversowed and just couldn't thin,

My raised beds are filled with shredded wood and some local sand, the water drains super fast. This winter I will top with a compost or soil as the beds reduce. Am lucky to have plants as the beds weren't seasoned ground. Crossing Fingers! Crossing Fingers! Hurray!

kittriana, that looks scary. Thank goodness for your raised beds. But if the water gets much higher you are going to need a boat.

@kittriana, the cucumber plants look good. It's scary why there is so much rain.
