Hi Leslie!

Nice to see you over here. And I love your polys -- especially that 6-way in your first flower picture! They are to die for!

Hi Leslie! It is good to have you here. We have missed you. Your home and garden are looking great. I really like your new terraced beds that appear to be quickly filling up. We will be watching for more pictures of your seedlings. Happy Easter!

Thanks for the welcome everyone!

The hummer garden will have my hosta collection. The deer won't get them this year unless they can climb steps! I'm also putting in pink honeysuckle, zinnias, nasturtiums, 2 types of clematis, trumpet vine and one other vine. I'm learning to grow things from seeds so if they make it we'll have a pizza garden for my son and several more flowers plus the peonies I see the Easter bunny so graciously left in my basket tonight. Hurray!

I hope the trumpet vine isn't like the one I have. It's very invasive Leslie. I must have over 50 suckers coming up all over my daylily beds.

Cindy, the vines are all going to be in pots on my raised deck so I think I can keep them under control.

Jean, thank you for your kind words. If the pink one you mentioned is the one I'm thinking of it's out of Ricochet Ruffles from Dan's place.

I have not posted a lot lately. Got so tied up in those games but am getting out of them and back to where I need to be.

Lighthouse Gardens I know exactly what you mean about the trumpet vine suckering all over the place. I purchased some brush killer and am determined to kill it this year.

I have been on this site off and on for awhile and should introduce myself. My DH and I have two sons and three grandchildren and one spoiled sheltie. I have been gardening for around 40 years my garden interest have varied over the years. I have tried many varieties of plants and have now settled down to what will do well here some of the varieties have truned into pleasant surprises. I still have plenty of variety in the gardens but now have lots of daylilies Lovey dubby a good number of various lilies that are breathtaking when they bloom, guess you could say there is a little bit (in comparision to my daylilies) of everything else that will grow here in Minnesota. I hope to be able to continue gardening as long as I possibily can hopefully as long as I live. Guess that gives you a big hint how much I love my gardens. Oh yeah I am a big fan of the lily auction and just recently got some more lilies and some new to me irises from a person on this site. I will be taking out or at least thinning out some of my old iris to make room. Big Grin Plus I have more daylilies coming every year I say no more and then get some more anyway. Hurray! Good thing my DH is so tolorant! Thumbs up

Here is a photo at twilight from a couple of years ago and a few others. Seems like I mostly take photos of indivdual flowers instead of the overall garden.

Betty, your garden is beautifu! I am intrigued by the ball covered in pennies. PLEASE tell us how this has been done. What are used for the ball and the glue for the pennies?

Doris I made that ball years ago using a bowling ball and a weatherproof glue that was quite smelly. I don't remember the name of the glue and am not sure if they still make it. I had to do small sections at a time as the pennies would slide out of place until the glue would set up. When it was done I didn't like that I could see parts of the bowling ball so I put a second layer of pennies covering up all of those areas. When it was complete in order to keep it shinny I sprayed it with a clear outdoor uv proof coating. Mine has stood up well only losing a penny or two I do bring it indoors in the winter to help preserve it.

Thanks Doris and lilylady for the comments on my garden.

Here are a couple of daylily photos
