We get a lot of hardy fuchsias in the UK! Magellan types are the commonest, these came from Wales originally and were used for hedging and still are. It is cold, wet and very windy in north Wales facing the Atlantic and they survive there, perfectly. Down here whole massive hedges are made from them and they look spectacular! The flowers are smaller than the showy ones, but you get more flowers and over a longer period, quite lovely in early spring and right into Autumn they flower.
