Adding my very first bloom on my very first rose bush from this year. I have 4 Mister Lincolns surrounded by lavender. It's a modest start and I hope to expand into a larger rose garden as I continue to develop the landscaping in my new home.

Hello everyone! I will still be on houzz as well. It will take me some time to get adjusted, as it's different here. Hope you are all doing well! I will try to come on time to time and say hey, to those of you not returning to houzz. I'm used to their format. I know they have problems, but, I still like them. I will try to upload a image and see how that goes. I have to figure out how to work everything over here.

@AquaEyes, in reference to your lengthy and informative Houzz threads, there's no easy way to copy them over to this site, but you could start a blog here and include links to those threads in the blog.

I've forgotten how one starts a blog because I did it so long ago, and when I go to the blog page I only see options to view and manage my own blog, but there probably is an option to begin a blog somewhere on this page.

I just remembered something funny that happened to me on Houzz when I first registered there as a member. I was shown a screen saying: "See our list of more than 18,000 home improvement professionals and experts in Sebastopol, Ca." Pretty impressive for a town with a total population of about 7,500. Hilarious!

Another refugee from Houzz here, very happy to find this forum and so many other GW members. I garden in the mountain foothills of western Washington, about an hour NE of Seattle, where rain is our usual weather except for July and August, so it's an uphill battle to grow roses, but worth it. I have a small yard but this year will have over 40 roses, the most I've had at one time, and they are doing great so far. I sometimes think the main purpose of the roses is to photograph them, no one else in this little town or in my family are into roses - they are polite, but you can see their eyes glaze over when I start talking roses, so I don't. But I love taking pictures and usually end up with five to six thousand photos from one season of thirty some roses. They keep me happy all the rest of the year even if it is overkill.
I hope many more Garden Web uses defect from Houzz and show up here, that would just be great.

It makes me SO happy to see more and more familiar names! Sultry, Mossy, Mustbe, Carol, Alana, Beth,Tessie, Christopher, and other names that aren't coming to mind, right now. Toolbelt, you too! You're always so helpful with structure advice, drip systems, and such. I know I've loved your posts over the years. We definitely want Niptress (Cynthia) over here, as well as Ingrid. Roseseek(Kim Rupert) and Paul Barden would be wonderful additions, as well. Pity, what Houzz did. Paul had just recently again begun posting pictures of his incredible roses there, ( his own creations and those he grows ). Then the whole mess happened over there, and that put a stop to it. I don't blame him. It was amazing to see his photos while it lasted, though. Since he's both rose breeder, AND professional photographer, his photos are amazing. (I'm partial to his roses, btw Smiling ). 'Mel's Heritage being my absolute favorite!
I just love seeing everyone here!
Virginia, my roses are doing better than I am, physically, but this isn't really the place to get into my new health issues. I hope you're well, I've thought of you SO often. I can't count the times that I've posted the words, " I sure miss Virginia!" over there!
I love Silver Cloud, as well! I have a pretty varied selection of roses. I love the "russet" ones, although they can be fussy. Thankfully my dry climate is pretty good to them, disease wise. Irish Creme has been a real winner here. I'm also so excited to be receiving a budded 'Honey Dijon' rose in January of 2019. This is a Mother's Day gift from my daughter. I can't wait, and know it's a rare find these days. Maybe Beth has it, as her place is a database of roses in itself! She certainly helped nurture my love of the "oddball" colors.

I'm going to check out the database and see if I grow any roses that could use some photos. I was fortunate enough to receive some special Bourbon roses(and others) from a collector who was downsizing this past January. Therefore, I may have pictures of roses that currently don't have any photos with them. I'll see, and add what I can. Have a great day everyone! Lisa

Hi everyone. I followed you all over to here but I am still on Houzz. Once I figure out how to use my new computer I will try to post some photos of my garden at the bottom of the planet. Lola.

Wow Karen, impressive garden and backdrop! We love photos around here! We have a monthly chat and photo thread and it's too quiet so I sure hope everyone jumps in and gets a parade of blooms going for the summer. nodding

Lisa, let Zuzu know if there are any missing roses in the database and she can create an entry for you, you can post in this thread. Thumbs up
Roseseek (Kim) is already a member here, he had posted a few times but it's been a couple of years.

I think I managed to upload a few photos. Leveson Gower, and Rev. H. d'Ombrain worked, but I couldn't add Jet Spray, because I'm seriously inept with these gadgets and was unable to post a link to HMF, to prove this rose actually exists. Thanks for any help. Lisa

Super, Lisa. Thanks for the database contributions. Here's an entry for Jet Spray.
