Oh, is that the problem? I didn;t know where she lived. I tip my hat to you.

Not Santa Ana winds actually, just a series of late winter storms passing us here, started warm rain then as the week ended turned chillier and windier. It finally calmed down now. At least no hail came with it in our area. So little Euphorbia is getting ready to join her friends outdoors again Smiling Smiling

Well, that's good. Both the storms and the Santa Ana's can sometimes blow you away. Who says CA doesn't have "weather"? Confused

If they get to much mildew, then I just cut and dip in root tone. new plants! I dislike the bare bottoms of some hybrids so when they get to bad I make starts too.

My 'Blackbird' looks great this year. As does another one that I can't think of the name right now. Glare I planted 'Ascot Rainbow' late last year and it is looking good this year as well. And 'Fen's Ruby'. Everything is growing by leaps and bounds right now. I've never seen anything like it.

Struggling with my new laptop this morning but wanted to comment quickly.

SC, unfortunately your 'Helena's Blush' is exhibiting some of the same problems we had with it. Some of those branches are reverting back to its parentage, E. x martinii, and will never show the variegation. It's not a 100% fix but you should prune out those branches to encourage new growth with the true variegation of 'Helena's Blush'.

I had a meltdown last week after my doctor's appointment. Realized I'm not going to be able to walk for at least another four weeks and it's impossible to get "into" the gardens. Sad However, I was able to visit the gardens last Friday. Rick helped me into the van and drove me around the driveway. Not perfect but I was able to see some of the most spectacular blooms I've ever seen on E. 'Shorty'. I've asked Rick if he can try to get a photo for me so I can post it soon - they're unbelievable! Thumbs up

I'm not liking Helna's blush much any how, gets mildew as you can see. She may be making a oneway trip to the composter.

Best wishes, Debbie.

Does anyone get a rash from the euphorbia, or is it a lot of hype? I only have one kind, but I have a few of them, and I used gloves to plant them. I don't like gloves, and would prefer not to use them. I do get a small rash from hellebores.

No, they don't bother me at all. But I've also worked with a lot of latex medical products for many years, and never had a problem with any form of latex, either.

It's not hype. All Euphorbias have a milky sap that can sometimes irritate skin and some can be poisonous.

I'm not a glove person either. Glare
