DavidLMO said:Rewind....the unrooted cutting was not fine. It rotted a bit so I cut off all the bad and am starting again. It was a bit wrinkled, but looked good on the end and appeared to be making claws. I pulled it out of the prlite and OMG. Sighing! .

That one is the Vera Cruz. Good news. My recutting took!!!!! Thumbs up

In fact, the clawing expanded and were not just regular claws. It is splitting into three stems and can be clearly seen.

I am more than pleased. First, I saved the plant even after the rot. Second, this was a first for me as I am just learning with Plumeria.

FWIW, I potted up all my seedlings I started in January. I have like 28 of six varieties with the tallest being close to a foot. Can't wait for it to bloom in 18 months ala DrDawg. Thumbs up Green Grin!

Thanks everyone. I took a lot of advice - particularly from this thread Tarev : nodding

I really do need to figure out what to do with my 28 seedlings. Have not told DW about them and so far she has not found them. Crossing Fingers! Whistling Rolling on the floor laughing

Noid Plumie yellow continues on to make solitary blooms at a time. At first I felt sad it can't show them all at once, but now I appreciate it, solo beauty, and it prolongs my bloom period for it, glad it is enduring our heat wave nicely too.

That solo bloom took a petal burn during those 105f temps: eventually dropped the bloom:

But temps are better now in the low to mid 90's and the other buds are following suit nicely..with a mantid nymph hanging around:

We have had 3 weeks now of 95 - 105 daily. My Plumeria seem to appreciate it. None big enuff to bloom. My vera cruz caught its breath and split into 3 stems and is clawing nicely. I was so worried when I discovered the root rot but recutting worked. Learning experience for me fer sure.

Thumbs up That's great news, David. Vera Cruz Rose is a vigorous grower and she'll be a good bloomer given a bit of time.
