UPS was just here and I tore the box open. Took a quick shot everything in default mode. Date is like 18 months ago. :-)

Color is beautiful without any editing. I'm happy.

Kathy,
are you being flooded right now? I hear the news while I'm sitting here. How far are you from Smith? Our oldest GD is studying engineering there.

SBOE is resending Astral Waif. They were just great about it. They were unsure about the ID on the one I received.
Kathy, Den. Nora T just started to bloom. Lovey dubby
Ursula, LC Irene Finney has just broken through the sheath. Is yours in bloom? I thought it was later bloom?

I haven't taken any blue flowers with the Nikon D300S yet...in fact I've taken very few pics...not much to photograph...I'll have to wait until bulbs start to bloom outside in another couple of weeks.

That's great Fred. What a difference in color. I love new cameras even when they are someone elses. Lovey dubby

It's very wet here but I haven't seen any roads closed due to flooding. I live a half hour from Smith. That's where the bulb show was. http://cubits.org/orchids/thre...

I've never had any problems with my D200 shooting blue. I can try the D300s on some blue vandas in the morning.

I'm paging through the 400 page manual. At least they give you one. Most things now a days tell you to print your own. I also bought two books on the camera and am presently reading the first. Still don't know how to shoot movies but it'll come. While reading I also watched Uconn murder Florida State. Multitasking and all that.

Laurel did you say your daughter graduated from Smith two years ago? What was her major?

Janice, about the Lc Irene Finney - it is a Spring bloomer.
My 'Springs Best' is getting ready to break through the sheaths very soon, 'Chicago' is a little slower.
We will both have a pretty show!! Thumbs up

My Rhyncholaelia glauca started blooming this weekend, I see a few more fat sheaths to open. This one has a lovely fragrance at sundown.

Here is the plant. Normally it hangs in full sun closer to the glass.

Renanthera monachica can bloom on a very small plant, producing a very cute spike.

Oncidium cheirophorum
I bought this years ago from J&L to see what one of the Twinkle parent would look like. I had planted it in Epiweb. ( Now Ecoweb).

For some reason this Onc cheirophorum grows and flowers better for me in the long run than Twinkle or Onc ornithorhynchum.
I like the scent - I smell a bit of Vanilla and perhaps a touch of Carnations.

And this one was a surprise - I didn't think my Dendrochilum wenzelii was going to bloom for me this year already, it was such a tiny new plant.
