We've been in the eighties the last few days. That dropped the RH into the thirties. The orchid room hit 92 today. I was misting, running fans and opening more windows. The Phalaenopsis have voted to not roll up and die after all Hilarious! They're lovin' it. Amazing how fast the Bulbos and Vandaceous orchids respond to the low humidity.

Here's Den. aggregatum (now lindleyi) this day. I'm not only disappointed in the # of spikes but also the way the spikes have not cleared the leaves. It's a work in progress. Smiling

Thanks, Ursula. I'll look it over later this weekend. I'm on my way to Maypop in the a.m.. I've got some interesting news in re the Den anceps to share. After blasting it with light all winter and keeping it somewhat dry the last few months (mount watered once or twice a week) I decided the rainy season has commenced in FL and started watering it almost daily. There are two kinds of buds...those that are older, dry looking and sheathed and those that are younger and green. The new buds started to swell immediately and are about to bloom. The huge surprise is the old, shriveled sheaths are falling off and there are swelling buds there as well. Also, though most flowers are on the back, there are a fair share forming on the front. Stay tuned. Big Grin

It is relatively small, the largest growth measures 9 inches and the blooms have a sideways spread of 4.5 inches. Not too visible here, the roots are all over the place. I love the trumpet lip.
The plant was the whole time in that really small inner pot and sitting under the glass ceiling. A root from another small Catt held the pot in place. Rolling my eyes. I read that they really dislike re-potting, so I just gave it the next size pot to stabilize it.
I didn't get a good close up today, will try again.
