Not a good thing! Blinking But - you caught it and they will re-bloom!!

In the early years of our greenhouse the exhaust fan went out a few times during those wonderful warm and sunny days in the Spring. Temps went close to a 100 F!! for a couple of hours those times. It was fixed and is now very steady. But there were some burned leaves.

Ursula, how long have you been growing orchids? Your collection amazes me. The collection of Neofinetia falcata and hybrids all blooming at once is stunning. I get excited about having even one bloom open. I'd love to see a video of your plant room and see what all is blooming at once.

Sorry about your problem Kathy. I have been wondering about mold. I bought one of those little ornamental foggers and was running it for awhile, but then decided it might be a problem in the summer and I don't really want a humid house this time of the year. Will run it in the winter when the air is really dry. Just misting and have some humidity trays for now.

Here is a photo I took of Enc. Atropine last evening. A couple hours later, it opened.

Here it is this morning. Not what I expected. The photo on eBay was white and green. The information said the photo showed the cross. Does that mean this is the species?

Funny when cubits started, I told Ursula to buy a video camera. She'd be a natural to teach and show us her GH and techniques. Maybe if I visit day after Thanksgiving and we are still all together, I can film her with mine.

That would be fun. i loved seeing how you had yours set up.

I'm not complaining about the color difference in the Enc. Atropine. Really like this one better anyway. I sort of understood when it said the photo was of the cross that I might end up with something different. The plant is huge and overflowing it's pot. After the blooms get done, It will go into another pot. has sent up a number of new shoots since it came. Not sure what the little green leafy things with serrated edges are. They don't look like the large leaves on the plant.

Susan, I like this Encyclia, nice colors too! It looks like it should smell really nice?

And thanks! Smiling
I started to pick up these Neofinetias around 2007 and it took a couple of years for them to adjust to my conditions and for me to understand their growing habits a little better. Most have them seem to have gotten used to my routine and since it is Springtime, they bloom. Good for me!!

Thanks, Janice. I hate setbacks! But I'll get over it.
This Schoenorchis fragrans had a bloom today. I took the picture then it fell off. Sigh!
