Thanks, I had them at our Arizona place for a while but for some reason they died over the winter. I tried them here in NM and the same thing happened. They should be cold hardy.

Thank you! @Legalily. So far mine have only been annuals. They should be great down to zone 3 or 4, but I haven't managed to keep them over winter yet. I'd love to know the trick if any of you have done it.

Lovely banner, Karen! Hurray! I love ice plants and find them really useful in our zone 10a garden in France - splashes of vibrant colour, so perfectly illustrated in your photo. I tip my hat to you. I tip my hat to you.
I don't think they would survive winters in England, although that is more guesswork than knowledge! Hilarious!

Yes, we have frost-free winters in our French garden. We are in what is described as a 'micro climate' - with the Mediterranean Sea in front of us and a semi-circle of French Alps behind us. That said, this winter there was a freak snow storm - the first in around 20 years - but the ice plants survived that and were happy to greet us early in the year. Smiling

Lovely banner, and I, too, love the plant. Mine have overwintered for several years. This past year, I think due to our warm February and brutal March, I lost several patches. I have it growing on a slope with a southwesterly exposure. Good drainage seems to be key. (Isn't it for so many things!)

Thank you for posting that, Sean. It's a gorgeous photo. I must admit the places I tried it didn't have the world's best drainage, so I'll fix that and try it again. I do have a slope that would look lovely planted up like yours.
