I know that would help me! I have several scraps of paper, used envelopes etc. with the names of beautiful plants that
I've seen photographed here on one of the threads. Oncidium Psychopsis Kailihii is one of the plants I have on order
and I hope it's a fraction as pretty as Ken's butterfly..and that Beallara Peggy Ruth Carpenter 'Morning Joy' is going on a
list...as soon as I can find a scrap of paper! Hilarious!

Jim: I don't get over to the Orlando/Apopka area very often at all but if I ever get the chance I will definitely have to find out where to get wonderful plants for $10 each!

Lindsey: I had to look up O. Psychopsis Kailihii, found one spelled Kalihi and it is gorgeous too. I also found one that is really, really beautiful and I'm tempted to order called Psychopsis Mendenhall 'Hildos' FCC/AOS.

Gee, I'm going to be in big trouble if I keep looking at all these pic's! Smiling

Nice one, Bree. Phals are about all you can buy at the big box stores around here. It is by far our most commercial orchid.

My old Photoshop died so I bought Elements 8. I usually hate the "embellishments" but I actually like this. This program is so user friendly.

Jim, I think it was at some official Lowe's training that I took a few years ago and they had an interesting tid bit...
phalenopsis are the most widely sold PLANT in the world...in the USA it is the poinstettia.

I must be "worldly" then because I'd pick the phal every time.

Bree: ... and a beautiful Phal that is!

All they sell at the big box stores (Home Depot, Lowes) are Phal's and sometimes Dendrobiums ... but, lots of Phals.

Kathy: I am not computer savvy, we have photoshop on our desktop machine and I know my husband has used it quite a bit but I've never learned ... no patience. That photo above where you used Elements 8 is really nice ... looks like a painting!

Kathy, when you say Elements8 is user friendly, does that mean you don't have to take a class to figure it out? I guess I'm like Lin...no patience. Whistling

Uh oh, I'm in trouble ... I was lurking on the Marble Branch Farms website again last night and added to my order: Encyclia phoenicea x Laelia splendida

My new babies should be here next Thursday!

Hilarious!
I love company!!!

The wind knocked over a pot today which broke off my spike on Oncidia Charlesworthii. Good news is I have another shade cloth crushed Cym spike. This time an ensifolium I never spiked before!

I think I'll stay in Ca.! Though we do get damaging winds, every fall and spring, we can plan on them, and earthquakes rarely damage orchids. Big Grin

Well the good thing is that this oncidium is getting healthier so I'm okay. Here's the Cym ensifolium 'Caihong' (rainbow):

The flowers were more delicate than Forster Alcock and the screen was weighing down in them. But the scent is almost identical to the Golden Elf scent I crave all year. I'm a happy girl and have brought it in the "house" now.

Speaking of Forster...I can never stop taking pics!

Miltonia Anne Warne finally has all three spikes open.

Perreiraara Motes Leprechaun 'Haiku Mint' again.

One more of the Stenia.

It's the first I have bloomed all by myself. This new full sun treatment has been a turning point in orchid growing for me! BTW and I don't want to jinx it, but I may have my first schomburgkia spike forming..... Whistling

Gosh, I wish I could just find someone to "talk orchids" today. That's all I'm thinking about!! Poor SO, he has to dutifully look at spikes today and I know he asked to only be shown flowers, but....

Keep the Schomburgkia totally open in full sun at least until it blooms!! Ditto inside!
