on to a new thread!

My divisions of Blc Dennis Kone 'Lakeview' AM/AOS are opening a couple of modest spikes along with the mother plant. ( Previously posted)

And Ascda Fuchs Joy continues to be a pleaser. The yellow Vanda peeking through is still the Ascda. Anant Gold x V. Rasri Gold which started to bloom outside in Summer.

Ursula, your Vandas are amazing!
How long did it take for them to reach that size, may I ask?
Breathtaking!

Fred,
Do you think Blc. Lake Murray 'Mendenhall' could be your mystery? Saw it in a shop without my camera this weekend. http://www.hurleyorchids.com/c...

Janice, a few of my Vandas grow in my care since the ca. mid nineties, but I picked up a few somewhere 5, 6 years ago.
This is the one which started it all, Vanda David Gardner!! It was a beautiful gift ca 15 years ago and I grew it in the sunroom, carrying it every day into the bathroom to water. When it didn't fit through the door any longer, ( and the Orchid collection was starting to bust out of its seams) we looked seriously into getting a greenhouse.
Here is my gorgeous Vanda David Gardner in its brand new home in October 2001. In the meanwhile I have split the plant, one keiki didn't survive it, but I do have now 2 healthy David Gardner plants, both flower regularly.

Looking at the nice shape of the fairly flat flowers, I think this plant primed me to always look for pleasingly shaped and patterned vandaceous blooms. The close up shot is from 2007.

What a beautiful phrag, Kathy. I'm eating my heart out.

Ursula, V. David Gardner just went on my wish list. It looks like I will meet Laurel and Steve in Apopka on the 9th of November as they make another trip to Miami. Perhaps I can find it there. Such fun, can't wait!

Thanks Carol! BTW, Gerberara 'Snow Ballet' looks quite happy-didn't skip a beat after being chopped up and shipped across country. How novel to have a hardy one!!!
