Ken, we are so happy to see the snow slowly melting away around here, although your picture is certainly pretty.

I'm off to Calgary for a week with a stop by Paramount tomorrow!

I've been out in the yard all day cleaning up winter debris and getting ready for spring. The weather here for the past week has been superb with highs in the upper 70s and lows in the mid 50s. I think I'm going to come out of this winter in pretty good shape.

Lots of nice posts and it is hard to pick a favorite but I am very fond of Lindsey's Lc. Blazing Treat. Great form and color. Todd's paphiopedilum venustum is just georgeous and my paph envy is off the chart.

Ken, the second photo of Choclate Drop in natural light is great. What a difference it makes!

I am suddenly interested in Paph venustrum. For years I didn't like it but tastes can change. Oncidium Nanboh Waltz is so beautiful. The oncidiums are also looking awfully pretty!! I wonder if I could keep them alive this round.... Whistling
Ken, what is your secret for Brassias? I was told to try keeping my Brassia verrucosa cool, so I'm doing that this winter. I have never been able to bloom it.

It snowed again today but it's blowing all over with 60 mph gusts today and tonight. Looks like you finally got snow, Todd & Ken. And lots of it, like us. Just took a while. We had January thaw on Friday! A month late. I just took a long nap which I never do! Vacation week from school is catch up time for my constant sleep deprivation, I guess! I've offered to clerk for the Amherst Orchid Society judging this Friday. Todd, have a super time at Paramount. I just love my loot from there despite the many extra shipping charges from Canada to the US.

My phals are opening. Neither of these have names. The white is a mini.

Interesting Phal shots!
And the Paph venustum is nice!
Jim, I would love to have your temps now. We got really spoiled the last two days with gorgeous warm sunshine, but today is not so nice, a chilly wind is howling all day.

Here are some, old some new.
My smaller Vanda David Gardner ( on left) and Ascda Peddler's Velvet Gold. The color on the Gold is slowly changing to include a touch of pink as the blooms are going.

I bought the small Potinara Love-Love 'Rich' last Winter and it has now three good spikes. It was sitting right under the glass and the orientation of the first blooms is straight up and crowded. I took the plant downstairs, I hope the other blooms will display better.

I like the Potinara Final Touch 'Mendenhall' very much. The relatively large flowers have a pleasing form and I love the peachy shade which changes in the light.
