Bye bye Cattleya loddigesii..... Thumbs down
It bloomed last year for me, unfortunately the large pink blooms showed color breaks. Not a good thing at all. I was hoping it was due to Thrips or something amiss culture-wise. I decided to hang on to the plant for another year. I kept it separate from my other Orchids which turned it into a real estate hog.... but I was hoping.
This week 3 blooms opened and now the plant had to be tossed. Crying
(Not to fear, I picked up another small C loddigesii from a different vendor.)
Have a look -

Ursula, is this a virus that causes the color breaks?

Most likely. After a year it's not worth infecting the others!
I tossed 2 Tolumnias and Miltonia Andrea West 'Wild West' today. They've been lumping along all summer and finally lost their leaves. Must be something in the stars.
Bye-bye!!

What Kathy said! Most likely! Even if it is not, it wouldn't be worth growing a plant like that.
Fare well .....

Lost Maxillaria pulla officially today. And my Korean form Sedirea. Neither had flowered. Rest in peace, little ones.
