That colocasia is wonderful! My husband's grandmother used to grow giant elephant ears, she would bring them into her dining room in the winter. She had too many, but they were really healthy and huge. She gave me one a couple of times, but mine never grew that big

Thanks Nancy! I live near the beach in Central Florida. My Thai Giant didn't grow that big this year because of lack of rain. It's a beautiful plant!

I have overwintered the banana plant outdoors once, but it didn't survived the following winter. I think that it was too much moisture. The Ensete from Santa Rosa is a fast grower here. Then there is the storage issue as was mentioned. Maybe I should have the detached garage heated so that I can just roll the stuff in there for the winter.

I like angel trumpets but I had gnats so badly when I brought them inside one winter that I just stopped trying to save them and replace them from a nursery.

Does THIN MAN increase very quickly for you, Mike? I think I need to fertilize mine.

Teresa I would say that the increase on Thin Man is moderate = somewhere between slow and quickly Rolling on the floor laughing
I gave away my brugmansia a couple years ago. Got too big to drag to the basement and hear DW complain about the smell Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing yea, I did remember seeing gnats one year.

I used to grow brugmansia . It was fun, and those flowers!!! Plus, very easy to root cuttings.

But they do get big and heavy. I don't remember any smell, tho.

With winter starting early it sure has been nice to see all the bloom images in this thread. Awesome clump shots, beautiful sdlg images, too. Mentioned to a member this morning I was going to try to find time today to get a few favorites together for posting ....

Applique Prism has a huge bloom made even more spectacular when it cristates.

First blooms for me on Boundless Beauty and Heavenly White Lightening were this year. I added them both last year while going through a need more near whites phase.

Love the colors and wonderful plants on both Crystal Castles and Let the Sea Resound.

Forest for the Sun and Octomom.

Sierra del Rojo, the color is fabulous, bright and eye catching on tall scapes. Can't wait to see it again this year.

Wooster Mindcraft was new this year. Produced pretty cristate blooms and set pods easily.

A couple sdlgs that bloomed first time this year that I look forward to seeing next year...

Char, I appreciate you taking time to post your pics. They are awesome, I would be hard pressed to find a favorite! I do love APPLIQUE PRISM, I had a small start, 2 yrs ago but lost that one Angry

The only smell I remember for brugs, was during the summer. I have a bench near my daylily patch, I had one large brug there and it smelled heavenly!

I have never tried overwintering brug cuttings.

Thanks Teresa and Valerie! I tip my hat to you.
Sorry you lost Applique Prism Teresa it has not done well here either. This was the first year it bloomed for me. I'm looking forward to having more free time after the holidays.
The seedling beds are way to much fun Valerie. Think I finally have the seed list sorted for planting this winter....6500+ seeds down to 2700 tets and 300 dips there is room for in the bed.

Wow, I can't imagine planting that number! My total seed count topped out around 1050, but I won't plant them all.
