I think it's safe to say that the greenhouse construction is officially DONE!
We got the water hooked up today, to a very cute little wall mounted water
heater...it only heats 2 1/2 gallons. I can set the temperature to 'tepid' and
water straight from the heater to the plants with a short hose and spayer on
mist.
The good news is that I received my first estimate for the lanai conversion today. The bad news is that it was for $39,000. No way I'm going there. I hope the other estimates are more reasonable.

Okay. Something inspired me today to put both my Calanthes and my pleione (out of the fridge) into a well lit room with no heat (where my bletillas are happily sprouting).
It is Summer weather here in NJ and all my plants have now been moved outside. The greenhouse is totally empty and awaits a good scrubbing.
The Orchids are all tucked into their spots in the Cage. I took a couple of snapshots, just to give you an idea. I still water with rainwater, "natural" or not, but I also will have a sprinkler on top of the cage with a timer mounted to the tap water faucet, if I am not around to water by hand.
The plants look a bit haphazardly placed at a quick glance, but there is actually order in there...
The Japanese Maple seems to like the spot inside the Cage. And there is Clematis Josephine on the right out-side of the cage all the way up into the tree.
And I can actually back up to get the Vanda roots into the picture.
Ursula, only you can really appreciate how upset I am that my orchids are scattered throughout the gardens and not in the lanai where I can mind them. I stay awake at night thinking about how Florida lubber grasshoppers have easy asccess to my babies. It is a torment.
