I've found that most weeds in my area are immune to RoundUp anyways.. they drink that stuff like KoolAid. So, I pull by hand. I worked for about an hour & half on Monday & pulled probably 2 5gal buckets worth of bindweed out of the front yard (I swear this stuff grows overnight! But it *had* been over a week since I last weeded and we'd been getting a LOT of rain, plus I *did* feed all my roses, so they were probably sucking up the rose food like prime rib...). I wear cheap gloves because, doesn't matter if I buy the good ones or the el cheapo nitrile gloves, I chew through the tips of the fingers in a couple of days. And leather gloves will NOT work for me at all.. I hate 'em. Only reason why I wear gloves is because of the amount of thorns in both the weeds (knapweed & thistle) and my roses (prickers & thorns). That, plus I get tired of the filthy fingernail look.
