I need some help here and hope someone may be able to shed some light on the matter.
It seems there is an imposter 'Dorothy Lambert daylily in pretty wide circulation, the numerous internet images from many nurseries and as well as our database showing the same looking bloom from several different gardens.
Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Dorothy Lambert')
However, it does not match the description "pink with bluish mauve eyezone and pale yellow throat". The image on the AHS does match
http://www.daylilies.org/Dayli... and that bloom is also on the internet, just not as prevalent as the incorrect image.
So does anyone know the story behind this mix-up? Looks like all the incorrect ones will have to be contacted and removed .
