Was it a Texas wildflower mix? Could it be Helianthus Maximiliani maybe? That one has that sort of layout in its growth pattern. I googled images for 'Helianthus Maximiliani foliage' and there are a few photos where you can see the foliage growth. If you don't use 'foliage' you pretty much only get photos of the flower. Just a guess. Where's @Horntoad
