It sure looks more that a month or two old. Helianthus max. has rough leaves. These are smooth.

I would guess Linum (perenne, lewisii) or Linaria (maybe purpurea). Due to the parallel veins, Linaria is more likely.

Except for the parallel veins, it looks lie a Euphorbia, too. Is the sap milky or clear?

Is there some reason why you can't tell us the size of this plant? Confused
